Don't forget to go to Proctor's for Westside Story ...  the greatest Broadway musical coming to play at the greatest Broadway-style theater outside of New York City.

Have a pre-dinner treat ( I suggest pistachio gelato) with coffee at Villa Italia ... enjoy the show .. and then have dinner and drinks after the show at Bangkok Thai

Ron, did you always fantasize that you were Natale Wood and Tony was singing "Maria" to you?

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

Did you hear the new City DEM slogan? "Keep the taxation aka {progress} going!"-lol-

Forget about your exploding tax bill, condition of streets/parks/pools, pathetic school system, hundreds of abandoned stores and homes and go see some stale overpriced show. Then tie one on at a governmental gin mill. It's really funny what these total DEM failures tout as "progress".

Is Proctor's giving out free tickets to the taxpayers in the city who are paying Proctors' tax bills?

Is Morris himself paying for Schenectady taxpayers go attend seeing as the taxpaayers have to make up for the difference in the STAR exemption that Morris is not entitled to

OR, you could go see an actual Broadway show (not some cut rate off-off-off production). Let's see, Spiderman is at the Foxwoods Theater on Broadway and tickets are $69. Humm, a ticket at Proctors for West Side Story is $65?

Not quite a deal now, is it?

Oh, PS, a train tix to NYC is $40 round trip. Proctors - the biggest rip-off outside NYC.

I have no interest in seeing Spiderman -- i know people who have gone to see it and said it was horrible.

When I go to New York City, I drive in ..

and Proctor's has been lauded by numerous stars of stage and screen as being one of the finest theaters in the country   ...

so go to Proctor's and enjoy a wonderful performance of Westside Story

Fact is, if Proctors was really bringing arts for the masses, it wouldn't be charging the same amount for tickets as an actual Broadway show.

$65 for a 3rd rate production is highway robbery. It doesn't bring any money to the county either because as a non-profit, there are no sales tax associated with this ticket sale.

Millions of tax dollars for that?

An outsider is telling me I should move out of my home if I don't like what the politicians and other outsiders are doing on behalf of outsiders? It is myright to dissent, I am a Schenectadian, it is my city and my money, isn't it?
Maybe I should just go to Proctors five nights a week. That would make everything wonderful. Proctors existed long before this crowd got in, people have to know that. Morris & Company didn't bring it here. It is NOT one of their accomplishments.
Go up State Street, look at the misery. What is downtown doing for that area? We have way to many idle men. Single men don't go to musicals, do they? They need jobs. Regardless of how these people got here, they are here now, they live in Schenectady, you ran away from the problem but it still needs to be dealt with. Our leaders are having a musical, it is "Brigadoon". Downtown is all facades. As someone else mentioned here, Jay Street isn't looking too good after the pedestrian part. That part was more "vibrant" before.
That article in the paper was hogwash. Political propaganda by people with a financial stake in all that foolishness. You don't put icing on a moldy cake.

You can build up your town and support your rightfully elected leaders or you can get out. There is no more room for tearing down the progress we have all made. At some point the line between opinion and criminality is crossed when tea partiers and anarchists tear down our political leaders. And it is getting fuzzy right now. When can the state intercede and use legal means to end this tearing down? That is a question that working families across the community will have to respond to, but for members of the League, and others, it is becoming clear that to forcefully defame the political leaders who really care, it is starting to look like a case of political terrorism. I think that the extreme tea partiers have already enjoyed their war on the credit of America with the aweful display of racial politics during the recent debate in Washington, but locally there is no way that the people of this town and city will not demand that they be stopped from hurting the standing of this county and its towns. The political leaders are on the right path. You are free to leave here. Negativity is of and by itself becoming clearly criminal. Most tea party white males won't get that.

When a person runs for office in politics they had better be able to defend their past and be willing to take the abuse that comes with it or get out of the race.

Obviously, you have no clue about the ticket pricing -- the ticket pricing is necessary to cover the costs of travel and putting on the production.

This is not a "third rate production" --- in fact many of the actors who perform at Proctor's in these traveling productions have performed on Broadway in other shows and will perform on Broadway when the show returns there or in some other show.

Sales Tax revenues are generated by the sale of food, beverages and other items within the county by people who come in to see the show.

I am not a tea party white male and couldn't disagree with you more.....as for defaming political leaders, that's an oxymoron....as for
extreme, ockhams razor is moving and they all better duck....and it wasn't the current title of 'the tea partiers' that started it
swinging....this is generational..and the war on the credit of America---WE ARE PIONEERING AMERICANS....not some sissy-pants
feed-me-welfare-subsidising cry babies.....the county needs to dump the gumba gangstas of old and the hippies of the recent past
and move on.....and as for racial politics---THEY put the labels on when they do their dumb a$$ polls and census....as if being of one
race makes one MORE EQUAL than another in the 'fight' for the ME a.k.a. IDENTITY......

so our leaders have used rhetoric over the past 40 some odd years shredding their parents beliefs since the gatherings on the
National Mall.......

...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......

Oh, come on.  First off the vast majority of people who will go to a show do NOT go eating there.   But if someone gets a $20 meal, that would hardly help the county.   A paltry roughly $1.60 on a $20 meal.   Hardly ads up.

Yeah, pricing also goes to pay Morris that fat salary too.

And what "items" are you talking about "within" the county are peeople buying?   Do you think they go to Proctors and shop around for their children's school clothes?   HA!  There isn't even any place downtown to buy childrens school stuff.

The main question is DV, for the tens of million dollars Proctor's has got from the taxpayers, AND in return for the forcing of the financially struggling homeowners to cover the cost of the property and school taxes of Proctors, tell us DV, WHAT have the taxpayers in the city gotten in return?   Can you EVER answer that question???????

Tell us what has happened to property values, to the crime rate, to the taxes, to the ability to sell houses, to the infrastructure, to the vital essential services in the city.   Tell us DV, you never answer and it must because you know I speak the truth, you know that if you were to answer you would have to say that Protors has been a financial burden on the taxpayers and it has not helped the quality of life of the residents and it has NOT attracted people to buy homes to live in the city.

Progress?  ROTFLMAO!! The DEMS incompetents have raised taxes to the highest in the region, much higher than the number two community and can't even pay the County taxes and school taxes due. It's all about the kids except when its about screwing the kids to save your phony baloney jobs. The new facades around Proctor's are all taxpayer paid. Most people have their heads out of the Gazetto and get it. Thank God for the Alliance Party and a chance to end this DEM death grip. Start chucking in September.

As far as the performers these are not Broadway stars. If they are it is billed as such. These are road companies performers. Good-yes but stop making a fool of yourself saying its the same. Proctor's needs to stop the BS and start paying a Stratton Fair Share PILOT like every other major nonprofit. Take it out of Morris' bloated salary and ego.
