Election Finance:
I will not accept any financial support.

Ethics Disclosure:
My wife works in Town Hall

BIO:
I was born and raised in Rotterdam, moved to Montgomery County and then moved back to Rotterdam in 2004.

Graduated Schalmont Class of 1984
Attended Syracuse University and Union College. I did not obtain a degree; however, it is my life experience that separates me from most
Trained by Hewlett Packard in computer repair
Worked with the Board of Supervisors in Montgomery County to integrate the use of the internet within all departments of the County
Meeting Coordinator supporting multiple GE businesses world-wide

Volunteer and Charitable Projects:
Restored the performance venue at Brown School in Schenectady NY
Designed and installed Brown School's academic network in following their move to Corlaer Ave

It is through these experiences that I have acquired the ability to successfully motivate parties of differing interests to complete nearly impossible tasks

BASICS:
All town employees to be residents of the town of Rotterdam
Proper maintenance of buildings and equipment
Proper maintenance of all town right of ways and land  - weeds, signs
Proper maintenance of all computer and paper records - all records up to date within 30days and accessible to the general public for viewing

GOALS:
+ Prevent the "creep" of those who do not respect the rights and the property of the residents of the Town of Rotterdam
+ Assessments should be completed in accordance with the NYS assessors manual once every six years,  our town should be divided in to six sections and each section scheduled for future planned reassessment,  Our assessments should rely on hard real estate data based on 30-60 day targeted sale date which should reflect the mean value of any given residential property. It is also essential that all property inventories be up to date for the recurring assessment process to be valid the assessment of business property will still require the expertise of our assessment team
+ There should be curbs on Curry between Five Corners and Helderberg Avenue
+ No more studies  - if a plan is to be investigated it must be completed with a buildable engineering plan that can be completed by our existing experienced town personnel with limited outside assistance
+ Update the comprehensive plan and enforce it
+ Enforcement of all town laws by both code and police enforcement  - "no more not my job" or "I'm too busy filing a Walmart 99cent shoplifting report" - learn to multitask beyond driving and talking on a cell phone
+ Support of all zoning laws based on the owner who can show proper site history of the properties in question
+ Repair and upgrade of our Sewer Plant
+ Installation of second water main to the main part of town to prevent dangerous low water pressure which we have witnessed in the past
+ All Employment contracts limited to CPI as described in NYS tax cap law

No consolidation with Schenectady County,  In past dealings with the county there has always been a charge for services and the service has historically been inferior for the price charged. If consolidation or sharing of services is to occur, the end product must cost less and provide better service.

In this time of economic contraction in which business has shifted its emphasis from the bottom line to the balance sheet we the citizens of Rotterdam need to come together to encourage business' to begin reinvesting in themselves in order to preserve our community.  It is through the efforts listed above that I believe this town will prosper and grow and continue to be "a nice place to live" and "work".

Thanks for posting your views Todd, I will consider your canidacy come election day. If I may, what are your views on buying the Old Grand Union building to make a new police station, and what is your opinion on how the REMS situation has been handled and where do you think it should go in the future?

Didn't Gerard run Mike V. for County Leg?  Brad must not have had a college degree.

He appears to have finished more than the 8th grade, unlike FDG.

If having a college degree is a qualifier for serving in Rotterdam government, no one told that to the illiterate off-the-boat vote.

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

You are the one who brought up the education level...And then compared it to FDG.

I brought up mike v to show YOUR hypocrisy, and you are turning it around and saying I'm a hypocrite for pointing out YOUR hypocrisy.  You must be a lawyer to spin it like that.

Huh??? I don't know what if you are following the progression of this conversation.  YOU asked “didn't we learn our lesson electing people without college degrees with FDG”.  I pointed out that MV was selected by team GP to run for County Leg.  I was pointing out your hypocrisy of questioning FDG's education level while Mike V. was on the GP ticket.  NOW you attack this Todd person's education, and your boy A-Jell-O is running arm in arm with Mike V.

Not only does MV not meet your criteria of minimum required education level, but he also has NO PRICIPLES like A-Jell-O.

Ohhhhhhhhhh...It was a set up question...Got it.

I do know how you interpreted that out of this thread...I still don't think education really matters.

Is somebody's education part of a candidates resume?  Yes.  Is it a criteria for holding office?  No.

Mike V could have been a rocket scientist for all I knew, when I watch him at the league of women voters "meet the candidates" his ability to articulate his position of the issues told the story.  Maybe he's more comfortable spliting atoms in a nuclear lab, but he was not very comfortable speaking to those he wants to represent.

So, to reiterate - education doesn't matter.  Level of education doesn't exclude people from public service.  But it is certainly fair to measure a candidate.

A really well educated person that is unprincipled has poor character and low moral standards is not worth much to me.  That just means they are cleverer at lying, cheating, and stealing and betraying the public’s trust.
