London rioters: 'Showing the rich we do what we want'
9 August 2011
Last updated at 08:35 ET Help Two girls who took part in Monday night's riots in Croydon have boasted that they were showing police and "the rich" that "we can do what we want".
The pair who were drinking wine looted from a local shop at 09:30 BST on Tuesday morning, spoke to the BBC's Leana Hosea.
Croydon was one of several areas plagued by unrest on Monday night, on a third night of riots in the capital.
There were also violent scenes in several other English cities.
The source of this story was 2 girls??? 2 GIRLS... not women, not adults, but with much of England on fire... the best they can do to report on a cause is TWO GIRLS??? Not exactly a consensus opinion is it?
(Around the corner they might have run into 2 preteens who could have blamed the riots & fires on "Cuts In Disney Programing"!!!)

Luckly I have an English coworker that has duel citizenships, and maintains contact with friends and family that live there and has a good idea why those specific neighborhoods are rioting. And guess what my coworker said? Rich people don't riot.

So now, representing England, a country of 51 million, we have the opinion of 2 'girls' and a Dual Citizenship co-worker.
It seems there could be somewhere in England, a person of authority??? Someone who actually knows what is going on and who's opinion is worth something??? (Stay tuned... next the Crazy English lady who owns 15 cats will report on the Riots! )

Oh!!! Wait!!! UPDATE!!!
I just called my co-worker...Spoke with a chap, they are rioting in London because of the Tea Party.
Well, Box, maybe this will show some proof that some things just aren't right over there. There is currently an item being sold on Amazon.co.uk that has jumped from rank # 6,821 to rank # 14 in total sales, sales increasing by a total of 48,621%. What is is? A police baton. The rest of the top 10, except for one, is baseball bats.

I read that report also Rampage. Aluminum bats in a country with out baseball! My point was the story that actually gave a headline to "2 GIRLS". A police chief, or mayor, or Federal official...might have a overall view of the damage done, the causes, the number of injured, and the progress fighting the fires and rioters. "2GIRLS"? Hardly a headline.

Well, they're not totally without baseball, but the fact that there is the sudden rise is sales of baseball bats shows they're using them for something. They have nowhere near the population we do, nor do they have the interest in baseball, but people are buying bats for some reason. I was just showing that it's not just 2 girls that brought police batons and baseball bats into the top 10 sellers across their country.
London is reeling from three nights of rioting that's poured hundreds of people into the streets, leaving several local neighborhoods in shambles. One man is dead, dozens injured and arrested.
Two police cars and a large number of buildings were on Saturday set ablaze in north London following a protest over the fatal shooting of a 29-year-old man in an armed stand-off with officers. The patrol cars were torched as dozens gathered outside the police station on the High Road in Tottenham.
The protests have now spread to other cities, with violence reported in parts of Birmingham, Liverpool and Bristol.
Great Britain and other parts of the world are experiencing unrest at a time of global economic uncertainty and stock market volatility.
Here's a look at what's happening around the world and how economic downturns are bringing protestors into the streets.
Great Britain
Police in London say the violence began during a vigil for a man, Mark Duggan, who’d been killed by police. However, those on the streets say what's happening goes beyond one man's death.
In late June, half the public schools in Britain where closed by a massive protest over public pensions cuts, including three major teachers' unions, customs and immigration officers, and air traffic controllers. Some 750,000 people took part in the protest.
London's press has reported that discontent has been simmering among Britain's urban poor for years, in neighborhoods like Tottenham, where the riots started.
But as one man told NBC News about an economic protest two months ago, "There was not a word in the press about our protests. Last night (Saturday) a bit of rioting and looting and now look around you."
In response to the violence, Prime Minister David Cameron has said law and order will prevail in Great Britain and he's doubled the amount of police officers in the streets and instituted curfews for young adults.
Cameron's conservative government is under fire for spending cuts to social programs in order to help reduce the country's debt. Among those hit the hardest are large numbers of minority youths who have been at the forefront of the unrest.
The only difference is that most folks want the budget and spending cuts in this country. It would only be the folks on the publicteet that would be kicking and screaming. Anyone with a thread of common sense knows that cut MUST be made. We are just putting off the inevitable if we wait even one more day!!
Let's just jump in with both feet, sacrifice and suck it up. Then and only then will we be assuring our kids a better future. If we don't...then it will be the first time in history that our kids will NOT have a better life than their parents. The hippie, 'it's all about me', 'if it feels good do it' generation has got to GROW UP!!

Years of liberal dogma have spawned a generation of amoral, uneducated, welfare dependent, brutalised youngsters
A few weeks after the U.S. city of Detroit was ravaged by 1967 race riots in which 43 people died, I was shown around the wrecked areas by a black reporter named Joe Strickland.
He said: ‘Don’t you believe all that stuff people here are giving media folk about how sorry they are about what happened. When they talk to each other, they say: “It was a great fire, man!” ’ I am sure that is what many of the young rioters, black and white, who have burned and looted in England through the past few shocking nights think today.
It was fun. It made life interesting. It got people to notice them. As a girl looter told a BBC reporter, it showed ‘the rich’ and the police that ‘we can do what we like’.
If you live a normal life of absolute futility, which we can assume most of this week’s rioters do, excitement of any kind is welcome. The people who wrecked swathes of property, burned vehicles and terrorised communities have no moral compass to make them susceptible to guilt or shame. Most have no jobs to go to or exams they might pass. They know no family role models, for most live in homes in which the father is unemployed, or from which he has decamped.
They are illiterate and innumerate, beyond maybe some dexterity with computer games and BlackBerries. They are essentially wild beasts. I use that phrase advisedly, because it seems appropriate to young people bereft of the discipline that might make them employable; of the conscience that distinguishes between right and wrong.
They respond only to instinctive animal impulses — to eat and drink, have sex, seize or destroy the accessible property of others. Their behaviour on the streets resembled that of the polar bear which attacked a Norwegian tourist camp last week. They were doing what came naturally and, unlike the bear, no one even shot them for it.
A former London police chief spoke a few years ago about the ‘feral children’ on his patch — another way of describing the same reality. The depressing truth is that at the bottom of our society is a layer of young people with no skills, education, values or aspirations. They do not have what most of us would call ‘lives’: they simply exist.
Nobody has ever dared suggest to them that they need feel any allegiance to anything, least of all Britain or their community. They do not watch royal weddings or notice Test matches or take pride in being Londoners or Scousers or Brummies. Not only do they know nothing of Britain’s past, they care nothing for its present. They have their being only in video games and street-fights, casual drug use and crime, sometimes petty, sometimes serious. The notions of doing a nine-to-five job, marrying and sticking with a wife and kids, taking up DIY or learning to read properly, are beyond their imaginations.
Last week, I met a charity worker who is trying to help a teenage girl in East London to get a life for herself. There is a difficulty, however: ‘Her mother wants her to go on the game.’ My friend explained: ‘It’s the money, you know.’ An underclass has existed throughout history, which once endured appalling privation. Its spasmodic outbreaks of violence, especially in the early 19th century, frightened the ruling classes.
Its frustrations and passions were kept at bay by force and draconian legal sanctions, foremost among them capital punishment and transportation to the colonies. Today, those at the bottom of society behave no better than their forebears, but the welfare state has relieved them from hunger and real want. When social surveys speak of ‘deprivation’ and ‘poverty’, this is entirely relative. Meanwhile, sanctions for wrongdoing have largely vanished.
When Work and Pensions Secretary Iain Duncan Smith recently urged employers to take on more British workers and fewer migrants, he was greeted with a hoarse laugh.
I am laughing like mad over the idiots in the formerly strong nation, who handed their country over to the muzzies and other assorted turd world immigrants and couldn't bend over backwards far enough to please them all. I LOVE IT! I AM BOUNCING ON THE CLOUDS OVER IT! I hope the whole island burns and sinks!!!
But at least they can feel safe knowing the dreaded and dangerous talk show host Michael Savage won't be able to come to their nation! They can feel VERY safe!
"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."
This is just the collateral damage caused by liberal government entitlements!!! People are dumbed down into thinking that GOV ALMIGHTY will take care of their every needs. The lazy are fed and clothed and housed with no consequences. The drug addicts are coddled with no consequences. Unlike GOD ALMIGHTY........the GOV ALMIGHTY will accept and allow and make excuses for bad behavior.......UNTIL....all hell breaks loose!!
Liberal government entitlements CAUSED and CREATED uncivilized behavior!!!
