The only one that thought it was close was Kathleen Moore. First round knockout for Roger Hull. DEMS were throwing McCarthy signs in the trash and are now working for Roger Hull. No one except City employees still supports McCarthy. And most of them live in the burbs. McCarthy came off as wooden as a cigar store Indian. OSM will be instructed by the horrible DEM machine to show the debate at 3 AM. But its too late.

It is too late. With the horrible budget creating 21 jobs and giving $10K for trees, increasing fees and property taxes - it's highly unlikely that McCarthy still has a shot in this race. Even Tonko couldn't find much to praise McCarthy about (except a garbage truck and police car ride).

Hull has more than earned the position as Mayor. I'm sure the first thing he'll do is fire the part-time secretary McCarthy put on the payroll. Hull knows how to answer questions - he proved it at the debate.

yes, it is too late for Rodger and Dodger. He knows that, so he has started running harder in the last weeks. But, alas, the renassiance train has left him at the station, holding his bag stuffed with fat-cat dollars from people who do not even live in state, who probably couldn;t spell schenectady if they lives depended on it. lol

poor guy,, he spent a $1 million for show how elistist he is

Hull hasn't spent $1 million, but I'm sure the 'birthday/campaign' mailers McCarthy sent from City Hall may match that amount.

Campaign funds/taxpayer dime...all the same for the DEMS.

I agree with you, rpforpres, I am afraid that both men have some grandiose ideas and big plans and we need someone to clean up city hall and run it, not metroplex.
My hope is through his experience as a college president, Roger at least will be able to spot a sham budget request. Nobody else seems to know a thingabout budgets, which allowed them to be led by BS' trickery.

Seems the only things about the budget they know is:

1. keep the status quo
2. dont tell the reality
3. pray/hope/sacrifice small child if need be that the future is brighter than NYS/FED/GLOBAL economic outlooks are
4. pray/hope/sacrifice elders if need be to prevent the ratings agencies from b!tch slapping you unless you pay your dues
5.pray/hope/sacrifice anyone else to keep the union voting bunch on your side

Would'nt it be ironic if Mr. McCarthy were to lose the election by 100 or more so votes, and this amount encompassed city employees living outside the city unable to vote here.   Poetic justice indeed!   These same people who pay their property taxes/spend $$$$ in other communities improving that areas lot, while our city suffers and could benefit from all those diverted dollars.   It seems so many of the higher ups in city govt./Plex tout the Renaissance here, but don't lead by example and live here.   I "heard" that the present city employees who live outside the city will be "grandfathered" in, exempted from the residency requirement, once it is more strictly enforced.   So it seems the requirement will apply only to new recruits.

he won't lose. polling has him up substantially. it is basically a cakewalk until Nov. 8. basically, the election is his to lose, and he will lose if he does something really stupid, you know, like not show up for a budget hearing [oh wait, that was roger the dodger]

Again, McCarthy is cashing in on favors for this election. Not cutting any City workers or their benefits/free cell phones or City vehicles. Not negotiating contracts....of ANYONE. 'Grandfathering' in employees.

Now he's panhandeling at the high school for votes for the 18+ youths. Hope they know that he skipped out of $2+ million owed to their district.

Guess the youths education isn't so important to McCarthy or else he would have paid the school district the $2+ million the City rightfully owes the district.

Maybe the youth could ask McCarthy why so many of their programs are being cut...$2 million goes a long way.

I'm voting for the lawyer....

But it really doesn't matter who wins, I'm either going to get stuck with a sword with a big tax hike with McCarthy or suffer 1000 papercuts with a whole bunch of little tax increases with Hull
