Gee, Schenectady's biggest cheerleader for increasing taxes on the financially struggling homeonwers is speechless about his buddy's refusal to debate.   Not a surprise

Optimists close their eyes and pretend problems are non existent.
Better to have open eyes, see the truths, acknowledge the negatives, and
speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies.

Single Schenectady mayoral debate slated for mid-October
Wednesday, September 14, 2011
By Kathleen Moore (Contact)
Gazette Reporter

SCHENECTADY — The city’s two mayoral candidates will face off Oct. 19 in their only scheduled debate of the election season.
The Daily Gazette-sponsored debate will be held at the GE Theater at Proctors at a time to be announced. Acting Mayor Gary McCarthy, a Democrat, and Republican and Alliance Party candidate Roger Hull have agreed to attend.
Hull has also challenged McCarthy to many other debates and is campaigning at neighborhood association meetings where he emphasizes that McCarthy won’t debate him there.
At a recent Bellevue meeting, he carried in an empty chair to make his point that McCarthy wasn’t there.
“It would have been better if he were there. I think it would have been fairer to all in attendance to hear from both of us, at the same time,” Hull said.
But McCarthy was busy during that meeting.
“Did you hear about the second historic flooding that night?” McCarthy said when he heard of Hull’s criticism.
McCarthy has also said there’s no need for multiple debates and said last month that Hull’s request for late-summer debates showed his inexperience. Many political insiders believe few voters pay attention until just before the election.
Hull turned McCarthy’s criticism into a campaign point, arguing that voters should prefer someone who is not a “career politician.”
The debate will follow the same procedures used in the last two mayoral debates. Gazette columnist Carl Strock will moderate the session.........................>>>>.....................>>>>....................http://www.dailygazette.com/news/2011/sep/14/0914_debate/

Did you hear about the second 500 year flood in two weeks? Can't wait to hear Acting McCarthy excuses for all of October. He sat there like a lump on a log and rubber stamped hundreds of tax and fee increases. The County investigator who is shocked about the pit bull, gang and crime explosion. Only in Schenectady.

he does not need excuses, he has you

least we forget from the grammine:
Ohhh boohooo for the poor guineas. I can have my opinions, you can have yours. Maybe you and the whoppers can cry in the home made wine while they plot how they are going to help the democrap party down at the children of Eeetaly. All of a sudden the dagos are victims? Hardly. There isn't a sneakier and more backstabbing lot to be found, yet none more easily snookered. Just like their "A-rab" cousins from across the Med.

Suck it up nancy boy...Your multiple personality gig is getting tired.

I thought this thread was about McCarthy and Hull debating. What someone thinks personally of another poster doesn't really bring anything useful to the discussion, does it?
I personally think emphasizing Hull's "inexperience" is not a smart move. BS had plenty of experience and it didn't stop him from being a terrible mayor, did it, nor did it prevent the other seasoned veterans of city hall from going along with his every cockamamie scheme which generally would involve destroying large areas of the city to establish a new, fresh fancy-schmancyville for his own glory. Hull's "inexperience" is a plus, IMO.

OSM will probably have the garbage schedule scrolling over Hull when he's on camera. They've had lots of practice on this with Vince Riggi.
