There is a link in the Times Union today to an article in the Syracuse Post-Standard, about the developer of a mall called Destiny USA. I would provide the link but I don't know how with this computer. Anyway, the developer is getting exorbitant tax credits for some kind of "brownfield cleanup" connected with a mall expansion. This is probably the type of thing the powers that be have planned for us here in Schenectady with that Fancy-Schmancyville thing they have going down at the old ALCO site. There is an interesting and intelligent comment by the first commenter as well. It is in the Capitol Confidential blog section.

There is also an article about that Patricia Snyder, formerly of ESTI. That's the other ripoff I forgot to mention. Just because someone is involved in something lofty and noble, such as "the arts", it doesn't necessarily follow that she (or he) will be above self-dealing, nepotism, and other shamelessness. Just a word to the wise.

Destiny is "owed" by Pyramid.   They are known under multiple names and they have owed big money to the state too

Optimists close their eyes and pretend problems are non existent.
Better to have open eyes, see the truths, acknowledge the negatives, and
speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies.
