Just put that phrase in the search box

Facebook pages provoke wave of local nostalgia
Saturday, August 20, 2011
By Michael Lamendola (Contact)
Gazette Reporter

CAPITAL REGION — When Bonnie Lashua wants to feel good, she takes a trip back in time by way of her computer.
That click brings her to a page on Facebook called “Youre [sic] probably from Schenectady if you remember …”
While on the site, Lashua, who calls Florida home now, can stroll down memory lane with thousands of other members, reminiscing, she said, about happier, simpler times in her former city.
“It is interesting what people have to say and remembering the good times we had, and jogging my memory is a lot of fun,” Lashua said. “I have run into a few friends I have not seen since I left Schenectady in 1995. It is an interesting page.”
The Schenectady look-back page is one of thousands popping up on Facebook, helping to link people to long-lost friends and neighbors and allowing them to share memories collectively, said Douglas Boettner.
“Creating this page is like creating a whole new family. They are remembering Schenectady again,” he said.
Boettner is a frequent poster on the Schenectady page and a columnist for The Empire Page, a website that follows state politics and government. He plans to write a column about the growth of look-back pages for The Empire Page.
“It is a human interest story that will look at the fact that people do not take pride in their communities anymore. This site is different. It has nearly 5,000 members, which is astounding,” Boettner said. “I have looked at other pages, and no one has this kind of membership. People have flocked to this site. Most are not from Schenectady, and they are there remembering their past.”.....................>>>>..........................>>>>.................http://www.dailygazette.com/news/2011/aug/20/0820_facebook/

It's kinda nice going to that facebook site. It talks about how great things were then and how pathetic they are now.

You say things are pathetic in Schenectady?  Sort of ironic, considering I just saw an election sign for McCarthy over on State Street by the Crosstown overpass stating that he should be (re-)elected to continue the progress in Schenectady.

All the people who left because of what the city has become get together and reminisce of good days gone by. Way by. Only democrap hacks who suck the taxpayers blood 24/7 can honestly look in the mirror and lie to themselves that the city has become so wonderful. They and their 10,000 welfare teet suckers that blindly pull their lever to keep them all in gravy can congratulate themselves on a job well done. They have picked the last shreds of meat from the carcass of the working private sector taxpayers and soon they can cannibalize themselves. I will enjoy reading about it from the comfort of a low tax haven, where my property isn't schat upon daily by the woodchucks and dirtballs who populate a once great town...Ohhh it's the democrap way. Trash in the street, woodchucks on the porch, and checks in the mail every month!

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

It's simple.........if the residents are happy with the highest taxes in the county, increased crime/gangs/drug dealers, blight, impassable roads, shouldering the taxes for the rich, schools that can't graduate 50% of it's students, declining home values...etc....then they should vote for McCarthy.

If they are unhappy with the 'above'........vote for Roger Hull..........simple as that....k?
