Gee, the Hollywood star and his entourage are staying out of Schenecctady (city)   Hmmm, wonder why?   Did greedy Morris want to charge them too much to park in front of the theater (where you would THINK it would attract many people)   Guess Gillen was so greedy too, must have wanted to charge them too much to park in a Metroplex parking lot.   And McCarthy, did he want too charge too much to let them stay in front or back of city hall?

Ah, they probably read up on Schenectady (city), saw the socialism, saw the crime, and decided they didn't want to make struggling homeowners pay for their stay.

So, they set up in Colonie

Sounds like the actors at Proctor's or for that matter Patroon buffoon Mercury Morris. For the DEM morons Downtown looks better from afar preferably another County. The Downtown charade has been unmasked. Dozens of businesses closing but Jay Street has a brand new tenant! Mayor in waiting Roger Hull has set up a HQ amidst the empty blocks across from City Hall.

Are they staying in trailers or using hotels? Anyone know? If they are using hotels, I don't think Schenectady has any accommodations large enough for a comfortable long term stay. If they are using trailers, someone should've aided them as far as where to park, etc., and by someone I mean someone
involved with economic development.

It's a trailer, there was a picture in the Gazette, they are staying in Colonie parked at the Stanford Heights F.D.   More than enough parking in the city, and all concerned probably wanted a fortune from to park

They can't have all their gear stolen every night for scrap metal either.

Ryan Gosling in Schenectady
By LAUREN STANFORTH Staff writer
Published 01:40 p.m., Wednesday, July 27, 2011

COLONIE -- The teen trio from Guilderland had been scouring the Web for where they could spot Hollywood stars Ryan Gosling and Bradley Cooper since learning the independent film "The Place Beyond The Pines" would start shooting in the area Monday.

And there they were on a gorgeous Wednesday morning, among only a handful of people who had found the latest location -- in the Stanford Heights Fire Department's Station 2 parking lot on Morris Road.

The lot was staged with what appeared to be makeup and costume trailers for the shoot that was happening in a private, wooded area just south of the fire department off Curry Road.

A Times Union reporter, who had gotten there first, saw the 30-year-old Gosling get out of a beat-up Ford van and walk into a trailer about an hour before. All 19-year-old Erin Kelly, and sisters Stephanie Lee, 18, and Brittany Lee, 16, had to do was wait. And it didn't take long. Around 11:45 a.m. Gosling, with fake tattoos adorning his muscled upper arms, appeared for a 10-second walk, making his way from the trailers to get into another van that whisked him off to the set.

The girls, who were enraptured minutes earlier by the thought of even catching a glimpse of the Oscar nominee, took pictures and watched him -- in absolute silence.

"I don't want to act like a crazy fan!" said Kelly, a Siena College sophomore, while holding her hand to her chest, obviously overwhelmed by the star sighting.

Chances are such scenes will play out countless times as the film continues shooting in Schenectady and surrounding communities until September. On Wednesday Gosling was likely filming motorcycle stunt scenes for his role as a rider-turned-bank robber. Cooper will star in the movie as a cop. Filming is also expected this week on Route 5 in Glenville for a chase scene, and the First National Bank in Scotia on Mohawk Avenue. Other future confirmed locations are the Altamont Fair and at Schenectady High School.......................>>>>................>>>>.................Read more: http://www.timesunion.com/local/article/Photos-Ryan-Gosling-in-Schenectady-1613142.php#ixzz1TOU4FTNN

I'm told actors use trailers during the day while on location and use hotel rooms at night. We don't have a place suitable for staying more than a night or two. I was surprised to find out how small rooms are in the Holiday Inn, and I don't think we have any of the suite type places.
I wonder where the cast of Lion King stayed at night? Did they fill all the local hotels? If so, it should have been easy to get the exact figures for room tax paid. The numbers in the paper have all been guesses.

If the idiot who started this thread had actually read the article --- the idiot would understand that it makes perfect sense to set up make-up and staff tents in Colonie for parts of the film which are actually being shot IN COLONIE.

What a bunch of losers the nattering nayboobs are ... they can't stop tearing down our community.  If you haven't heard it enough times ---  we don't need these negative people and their verbal terrorism -- make our community a better place by packing up your bags and moving to Jupiter.

Well if you know that many of them ARE staying here, that is what this thread is about, are they staying here or in Colonie? People are sharing what they have heard. So instead of name calling, you could enlighten us.
My guess is that nobody is staying at the Twins.

Contributing yes but where will the money be spent? If you had to make a choice of where to stay would you choose Schenectady, Guilderland, Colonie, Latham or Albany?

Here is why they come here:

http://www.nylovesfilm.com/tax/

The brilliant economic developers have given "special tax breaks that cost us money and need to be eliminated" just like Obama and the democraps are always claiming that energy producers are to blame for our spending woes. Eliminate HOLLYWOOD'S SPECIAL TAX STATUS!
