[color=red][/color]The ACLU, American Civil Liberties Union: The ACLU is after an inn keeper in Vermont, the inn keeper would not accommodate a function for a 'gay couple'. Seems to me no one is 'gay' about the situation with the exception of the ACLU.
I have always believed there is a need for an ACLU, unfortunately the ACLU is hell bent on tearing America apart. They delight in rubbing Americas nose in the dirt. Once in a while they take a right turn to confuse US. The defense of Nazi's in Skokie, Illinois in 1977. The ACLU lines up with the communist, not National Socialist but defending Nazi's contributes to disorder. Disorder is good, right?
There is a perception that the ACLU has been the 'legal arm' of the American Communist Party. The communist want to bring America down. America is to communism what Jesus was to the devil. In America the devil is winning.
Nazi's in 1977, gays 2011, whatever works for the ACLU to create another situation that divides US. Divide & conquer.
Is there an organization ready to meet the ACLU challenge? If you tell me the American justice system, I will puke. It is time someone stand up to the ACLU. Lawyers (liars), capitalist (with money), do something for your country. Stop belly aching on FOX, put your money where your mouth is.
The ACLU is just that, Civil Liberties Union. They stand up for the US Constitution and the Rights of Americans.

Good question Bumble... The answer: ~ As early as 1965, the ACLU provided legal assistance for individuals who had lost their draft deferment because of their anti-war demonstrations. Local ACLU boards, such as the New York Civil Liberties Union, went to great lengths to protect First Amendment rights, winning 90% of their 269 cases.
~In a landmark case involving students who wore black armbands to protest military action in Vietnam and were suspended by their school district. With the help of the ACLU, the Supreme Court ruled in favor of the students and a precedent was set expanding the free speech rights of individuals in schools.
~ACLU provided critical support with conscientious objectors. As in World War I, the ACLU continued to defend the rights of COs and their objection to conscription.
On many issues there was dissension among ACLU members regarding the issues involved in the Vietnam war. In many cases, the state ACLU affiliate would support issues that the National ACLU did not comment on.
