Presidential candidate Herman Cain on Sunday defended his opposition to a new mosque in Tennessee, expressing concern about Shariah law and declaring Americans "have the right" to ban mosques in their communities. Cain, who stirred controversy this year by saying he would be uncomfortable appointing a Muslim to his Cabinet if elected, first expressed concern Thursday about the controversial mosque in Murfreesboro, Tenn. That mosque has been the subject of demonstrations and legal challenges in the wake of the controversy over the so-called "Ground Zero mosque" in New York City.
Speaking on "Fox News Sunday," Cain said he came out against the Tennessee mosque after talking to members of that community. He said the site is "hallowed ground" to Murfreesboro residents and that they're concerned about "the intentions of trying to get Shariah law" -- the code governing conduct in Islamic societies. "It's not just a mosque for religious purposes. This is what the people are objecting to," he said. Asked whether any community should be able to prohibit a mosque, Cain said they should. "They have the right to do that. That's not discriminating ... against that particular religion. That is an aspect of them building that mosque that doesn't get talked about," he said. Cain again argued that residents were objecting to "the fact that Islam is both a religion and a set of laws, Shariah law. If Cain were to become US President (when pigs fly) he would swear to "uphold the constitution of the United States"... and start his presidency with a lie.
Last week, Cain came out against a proposed mosque in Tennessee because it was an "infringement and an abuse of our freedom of religion."
Cain on Fox, dumps the "freedom of religion" part of the US Constitution again: ~ "You are saying any community if they want to ban a mosque," Wallace pressed. "Yes, they have the right to do that. That is not discriminating based on religion against their particular religion," Cain insisted. Cain said Sunday that any community should be able to ban mosques because there was a big difference between Islam and "our other traditional religions."
(So much for Republican "Freedom of Religion"... The First Amendment only applies to the "traditional" Religions that Republicans approve)

Yeah because issues like these is what keeps the 2 party system alive, many are waking up though, there is actually a group now gaining some steam called the Blue Republicans, they are democrats who will support Paul come the election. People are sick of the frauds and all they want is someone who will give them the truth and not blow smoke up their a$$es.

Whether anyone actually agrees with it or not, he's right. A COMMUNITY has the right. The FEDERAL GOVERNMENT doesn't. As President, he wouldn't have the right to ban them, but say the Supervisor of Rotterdam wanted to ban them, or the City Council of Schenectady, or even if New York wanted to ban them, it would be legal. The Federal Government cannot make this decision.
