Does anyone remember that house on University Place that was featured in the Times Union that is for sale for $309,000 and the taxes are over $11,000.  Been on the market for a couple years, no one want to buy it.

For people who like the style, it is very nice.  No arguments there.   However, even people that like the style are staying as far away from it has one can get.

I saw something today that caused me to look up some things and here is a comparison:

House 1 is the house on University (officially listed as 54 Union Avenue, as opposed to 1077 University Place).
House 2 I will tell you later.

House 1 is in the capital region
House 2 is in the capital region

House 1 is located in a CITY
House 2 is located in a CITY
House 1  built 1899
House 2  built 1900

House 1 has 3,440 square feet
House 2 has 3,515 square feet

House 1 has 2 stories
House 2 has 2 stories

House 1 has first floor of 1,717 sq feet
House 2 has first floor of 1,751 sq feet

House 1 has 2nd floor of 1,723 sq feet
House 2 has 2nd floor of 1,764 sq feet

House 1   roughly one-third acre lot size
House 2   roughly one-third acre lot size

House 1   Victorian
House 2   Victorian

House 1   5 bedrooms
House 2   5 bedrooms

House 1   0 fireplaces
House 2   1 fireplace

House 1    2 full baths
House 2    2 full baths

House 1    has a covered porch
House 2    has a covered porch

House 1    has a full basement
House 2    has a full basement

House 1    has a carport 12' x 12'
House 2    has a garage 20' x 20'

House 1    combined city, county, & school taxes are $10,601   (this EXCLUDES all those "fees" which are just more taxes disguised as fees)
House 2    combined city, county, & school taxes are $10,472   (I'll have to check what kind of extra fees there are in the place where this is located)

House 1   is valued at $259,400
House 2   is valued at $550,122

Wow, house 2 is worth MORE THAN TWICE what House 1 is, yet pays LESS TAXES !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

House 1 is located in a city that is dying, located in a city where houses don't even sell after a couple years on the market....in fact, House 1 has been listed for MORE THAN two years and NO ONE wants to buy it!!!!!!!!!!!!

In fact no one even wanted that other fancy schmancy house in the historic GE Plot, it went to auction, why??????

But House 2 is located in a thriving place where houses  increase in value and people WANT to live

This is hardly a surprise to anyone paying attention. Property values under the DEM implosion working together team have crashed. No one wants anything in the City. The prices are give away because the schools are the second worst in the area and the taxes are the highest in the area-AGAIN. Nobody gives a hoot and a holler about arts and farts.

This implosion is starting to happen Countywide as property buyers see the dysfunctional County Legislature, with the new County home, with the $9 million increase a year in County property taxes, with its lob hires and are flocking to Saratoga County. Cousin Vinny a long time DEM County hack couldn't wait for his term to end to get the heck out of here. The sheeple left can pay for his 12 years of his cheer leading, idiot proposals and nanny State legislation.

Wow, that lavish Extreme Makeover house in Colonie is for sale.

The taxes on it are less than that fancy house on University (or Union, depending how you loock at the address), and the value of the makeover house also is SUBSTANTIALLY more.

Ane DV Full of Lies is too chicken, too embarrassed to respond to the comparison of the two houses I compared above.

House in Schendctady valued at $259,000 with a tax bill MORE THAN an almost identical house in Saratoga worth $550,000---i.e. MORE THAN TWICE THE VALUE

So DV, what do you say about to almost identical (not floor plan) but style, age, amenities, craftsmanship....well, tell us WHO would wnat to have a house worth $259,000 and pay more taxes than a house in a much safer community of Saratoga, a house worth more than twice?

Well????    Answer DV??????    Too chicken to reply???????

HOW DARE YOU BASH OUR FINE PUBLIC SERVANTS WHO WORK SO HARD TO CREATE A RENAISSANCE!

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

Well, DV, cat got your tongue?    I show you a house in Schenectady cit worth LESS THAN HALF that of an almost identical house in Saratoga while the taxes in Schenectady are MORE than Saratoga

And you are too embarrased to respond.....with a comment about the topic (not a yawn or crap about negative)    It is the TELLING OF THE TRUTH.

An YOU DV, YOU CANNOT deny it.

So, DV aka SB.

Still no response?   You STILL cannot come up with any proof whatsoever to disprove what the truth-tellers say?   Spending your days googling, looking for anything that proves that Schenectady is getting better?

I heard an awful lot of sirens last night in the Upper Union area. Unless a lot of people had serious illnesses, ALL AT ONCE, that is usually a sign that things are not as they should be, "quality of life-wise".

The ex mayor of BS must have heard them too, probably hurried and called the PD to tell them to keep their mouths quiet.  Wonder how much the dem party paid the Gazetete to not say anything (if it was crime) because it would be up against a story that says the city is improving.
