If dvr was telling the truth....then perhaps we could continue this conversation. But it is clear that the poor guy can't tell fact from fiction from rumor!! Even his own party is getting pissed at him....so I hear at the donut shop!

I was at the NNTP event at the Rotterdam branch of the Town Library in 2009 when Mr. McGarry made the statement.    Now, it is possible that he doesn't want to stand by that ridiculous statement anymore or - maybe - heis being told by his GOP handlers to deny his past "lapses of judgement".

If my party were "pissed" at me - which they are not - I would be the first to know about and they are not.
But what would that have to do with the issue at hand -- Mr. McGarry made statements in a public venue in 2009 saying that his first actions if elected Supervisor  would be to tear up the contracts with the public employees unions and would disband the police department.    So the only opinion that will matter is the opinion of the VOTERS when they find out how absurd Mr. McGarry's thinking is and how ill-equipped he is to run the town.
