The city you say is so wonderful, but for which you REFUSE to put your money where your mouth is, ANOTHER SHOOTING.
How many shootings does it take before you put down those pom poms, stop cheering, and start demanding that the taxpayers money be used where the taxpayers live, in the neighborhoods, to improve them and make them safe? Can you answer that?
SCHENECTADY --A 21-year-old former wide receiver for the Schenectady High School football team was shot in the arm during a melee on Glenwood Boulevard Tuesday night.
Schenectady police say Jason Nesmith was shot around 10:15 p.m. during a large fight in the 100 block of Glenwood. He was treated at Ellis Hospital overnight and released.
A vehicle was also shot on the street and numerous shell casings were recovered. Police have made no arrests.
Optimists close their eyes and pretend problems are non existent. Better to have open eyes, see the truths, acknowledge the negatives, and speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies.
OMG!! That 'is' or shall we say 'was' one of the nicer areas in the city.

OMG!! That 'is' or shall we say 'was' one of the nicer areas in the city.
Actually I thought I heard the corner of Glenwood and Union. But regardless, I mean that is just feet, only FEET away from that upscale Morris Ave historic street.
Let's see what the Schenectady cheerleaders say here.
Well, it will either be a "yawn" answer or it will be the other usual answer that implies that the negative facts about the city must be swept under the rug, kept a secret. People mustn't learn about shootings.

Union Street up to about Morris has become a bad neighborhood. Like Eastern, the blight is creeping upward. I know people on Eastern just below McClellan who are hoping things will really "turn around" before they are forced to sell their beautiful home and run. Union finally got repaved. Too little, too late.
Tell them to stop waiting for things to "turn around". Nothing can improve with the current all DEM moron crew. The City is broke after decades of DEM over spending, nonprofit handouts, hiring the entire DEM Friends and Family Club and raising every tax and fee. This doesn't include pensions costs which Schenectady {in violation of State law} refuses to disclose. Take another look at Lexington Avenue-6 houses for sale with no buyers in sight.
Another shooting!! Big Deal!! It has become 2nd nature in the city! The 'smart informed' folks are appalled and the 'dumbed down' folks think this is a way of life!
