'Gifford's re-election', supporters of Congresswoman Gabriello "Gabby" Gifford are holding a fundraiser on North Broadway, Saratoga, NY - July 22. It is a 'kind' gesture but illustrates one of the many failings of our political system The concept of voting for a candidate based on ethnicity, sympathy or charm has seeded DC with incompetent people. Ditto Albany. Gabby was shot by a deranged individual, not a cause. The media & President Obama exploited the tragedy. Mainstream media & Democrat Party are interchangeable. Gabby was a worker, an honorable woman, a good representative. Gabby's injuries in all likelihood make her susceptible to influence. Gabby may not be competent to serve but that is for 'doctors' & the media to determine. The media has already determine Palin & Bachman not to be competent, still waiting for word from the AMA. Electing a person to office is like marrying the person. Like marriage 'feeling sorry' for someone is a sure formula for disappointment. Gabby's husband is being considered for a run. He may be competent but being an astronaut or Gabby's husband is not enough. What does he stand for? Multi- generational, political dynasties have not served America well. The Bush & Kennedy families are not America royalty, we left that behind in 1776. The reason we do not find new faces & names is we do not look. The system is rigged that way.
