In a riveting front page story the Gazetto examines the explosion of hot dog jobs. Due to the "work" of the DEM unified County Redevelopment team Schenectady County now has 4 new hot dog jobs. Metrograft bozos have finally created new jobs! No word if any of these moved Downtown from in County sites.
But it is not all rosy. One vendor complained that many more people are brown bagging it. She used to sell 100 hot dogs a day and is now lucky to sell 30. Death Ray needs to give away more free rent to the DEM friends and family club so they can buy a hot dog thus simulating the pathetic Downtown business climate. Hot Dog vendors must be installed at Olender's, Media Done, The Bead Store and About Time all Downtown businesses that have folded in the last two weeks.
Who said there is no job creation by the County unified redevelopment team? 4 people are now serving the people. The 70% drop in sales is a great barometer for alleged "renaissance". More people brown bagging it to pay record DEM tax and fees.
I give these folks credit for at least getting out and working for themselves, cause God only knows that there are no jobs to be found.
It must cost a bundle in taxes and fees and insurance to have one of these outdoor vending businesses!! Bet they aren't getting any tax breaks, huh? KUDOS to them!!

Bravo to anyone starting a new business especially Downtown. After $100 MILLION in sales tax revenue flushed on 2 blocks Downtown people have to sell hot jobs to make a living? Front page news in the 6/22/11 Gazetto. Then when you go to the jump the real news-sales are down 70%.
Schenectady County again leads the Capital District in unemployment. All the cheer leading and working together crapola has enriched a handful of connected millionaires. While the majority can't afford a hot dog. They didn't get a property tax exemption. Metrograft is a total and complete failure. Anyone still singing its praises needs to be removed.
