If you wonder why the middle class is being squeezed to death... Blame those top 400 who are only paying half of their fair tax bill.

I am not and will not be put in a position to place blame on the working folks, no matter how much they make. I will however place blame on the government who spends like drunkin solders. If you honestly think that taxing the rich will save the economic planet, then I have a bridge to no where to sell you. The more money the government has.....the more entitlement programs and spending they will do!!

The government, not the rich working class will continue to squeeze the middle working class.. Historically there have always been rich folks and  yet the middle class flourished and there was less poverty. It is the government that continues to spend without cause!!

the rich working class???  The RICH don't WORK!!!  The top 400 earners don't actually DO work... Unless you consider cashing their capital gains checks as WORK!

I agree.  I have nothing against "rich folks"... I just want them to pay their fair share of taxes.
When a working man pays twice the tax rate of the richest 400 Americans... there is a problem.
For most of the time that your "rich folks" were paying taxes, they were paying above 50% and much higher.  That was back when, as you pointed out, there were 'rich folks' and the middle class flourished.

Some of the middle class folk actually believe that if the rich(job creator/investors) pay more taxes, the "working man" or middle class will continue get a 3 to 5 percent annual raise from their employer(the "rich") so they can maintain the center hall colonial with the white picket fence, have the 2.3 children and the two cars in the driveway, and the cable tv, and the cleaning service and the lawn service, and pay for their kids education.  They fail to recognize that we are $14 trillion dollars in debt, with Trillions of unfunded mandates.  Foreign countries like China and Japan buy up Trillions of our debt so we can continue to fund the entitlement programs Americans have become accustom to.  Americans are going to be in for a RUDE awakening in the coming months and years.

I agree in part with your assessment of the disparity in tax rates.  But I doubt you you are in favor of a flat tax, I am assuming you believe the "rich" must pay MORE for they success and talents.

Soon China will be trading in their bicycles for cars and Americans will be trading in our cars for bicycles.  There is only so long a nation can support their non-productive off of the fruits of the productivity of another nation.  It is unsustainable.

But...For Box, it is politically advantageous to play class warfare and pit everybody against the "rich".  Regardless if it solves the problem.  Statistically you can't lose.

IF the RICH are the "JOB CREATORS"... then the George Worst Bush Tax Cuts for the Rich should have created the largest JOBS CREATION ERA of our times... but it didn't.
The largest transfer of wealth from the middle class, to the Rich occurred (TAX CUT) and yet the USA LOST JOBS.
Could it be that the Rich do what they always do... Invest their dollars where they pay NO TAX... Where they GIVE NOTHING BACK TO THE COUNTRY THAT MADE THEM RICH?

If the Rich get more, and we lose jobs... the whole RICH = JOBS myth is proven untrue.

If the federal income tax rate was the only variable in our complex economy, then I would say there is logic in your statement.  But since there are other variables like the federal reserve controlling interest rates and the money supply, growning competition with developing nation in the world economy like China and India, and many other variables that caused our economy to shrink.

Wealthy people don't just have the money they have a pattent on the ideas that made them wealthy.  So to your point, yes, the wealthy will take their ideas and industries and move them to a country that allows them to keep the most money for their innovation and talent.  America used to be that beacon, we attracted the best and the brightest from around the world because people were free to work, create, invent, and profit and become wealthy off of their talents.  Now Americans are taking their talents to other nations that allow them to keep the money they earn.

The rise of the statists in America are driving people away from America.  Americans like box and liberals continue to push the anti “rich” pro big government agenda that is in essence killing the geese that were laying the golden eggs to fund their beloved government programs for decades.

So go ahead box, tax the rich - tax the rich - tax the rich.  I know that’s what you believe is the solution. The evil rich man isn’t paying their “fair share” so America can continue to fund a nation of useless bureaucrats and welfare programs.  Take a look at Greece, they are a nation that produces very little that borrowed to support their BIG government.  The house of cards collapsed.

Continue on with your thought...
What caused the economies of China and India to grow???
Income from huge loans to the USA made by the Bush administration to pay for the Tax Cuts for the Rich!

The packed summer lunch program is another great indicator of Obama's success with his economic stimulus "plans" and the ongoing renaissance for Schenectady connected developers. Do the evil rich corporations aka {job creators} include GE that pays the lowest corporate tax rate under Obama-Box?

If GE paid the same corporate taxes as Walmart the deficit wouldn't be $14 TRILLION under glorious leader Obama. What this has to do with the cost of incarceration is anyone's guess. If you get a free hot dog and dip in the City pool you are less likely to commit armed robbery? The liberals here are running around like Chicken Little with Obama, FDG and Acting McCarthy all in free fall.

Oh, the Center for American Progress.  Gee, there are 8 different tax rates over a 60 year period.  How many years was each tax rate in place when measured?  I hope it's 7.5 years for each, since the 8 tax rates divided by 60 years is 7.5 years per rate.  OHHHH, WAIT, the 35% tax rate is measure over a 10 year period since it went into effect 2001, so they can't be measured over equal time periods.  How conveinent for Center for American Progress to make a nice graph for you to fool unsuspecting Americans with inconsistantly measured statistics. You're cherry picking statistics.

Voting for Obama doesn't lead to job growth either. Instead of useless bar graphs take another look at the crowds packing DSS, food pantries and free lunch programs. Socialist policies never work. On the Federal level, with Metrograft, at the local level.

The economy is great. He took something bad, added uncertainty and made it far worse. Smartest man alive.

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."
