Santabarbara shares Leadership Tech Valley experience

To become a better leader, first you must know your community.

The Albany-Colonie Regional Chamber of Commerce and The Chamber of Schenectady County combined their leadership programs in 2006 to form Leadership Tech Valley. Through the program, 40 professionals from various backgrounds come together to learn more about themselves and how to better serve their organization a community.

The recent Class of 2011 raised $25,500 and purchased a new Honda Odyssey minivan for Equinox to use for their youth services. Mohawk Honda also sold the vehicle at dealer cost to the group. The van will be used to shuttle young adults to appointments, job interviews and field trips.

"They {City Mission} are right across from Proctor's and I guarantee people don't know that," stated DEM County Legislator ANG. Huh? Somebody hand him a map. Across from Proctor's is Center City. City Mission is on Hamilton Street. A reporter said they can't print any of ANG's hourly press releases because they are so embarrassing. He didn't work for The Spotlight.

Why do politicians need a retreat and a guided tour to help and connect with people in Schenectady? How about this, use the money the taxpayers give you and do your darn service! Seriously?

Walk into the City Mission more than once in your lifetime, it might do you some good to  know about the people who live there. You don't need a retreat to do that, you just need a heart.

Another cheap publicity stunt from ANG. The pathetic fact is that he doesn't even know where City Mission is. He thinks it's in City Center near the Y. I guarantee that people do know where City Mission is-even is ANG is mixed up.  What an embarrassment for the DEMS, ANG and The Spotlight. The Spotlight better start checking some of these idiotic DEM press releases.

Actually -- there is a tie for BIGGEST embarrassments ---   tie between  Joe Surhada as a County Legislator or in any public office  and Bob Farley as a County Legislator.

The truth is...........you need to be a leader BEFORE you are put in a position to lead!! This isn't a learn as you go! Obama is proof of what a disaster that is!!!

Can you just see a multi-billion dollar corporation hiring a new CEO who shows no leadership skills, but promises to learn as s/he goes!! OMG!

Sorry angie....a little tooooo late to 'learn' what your community is all about!!

Just drop off some recording devices around the county. Pick them up periodically and listen to them. That's what angie does best.....yes???

Ron, is a funny guy for a loser who could never win any office. IF he was to win we could all see him as the "go-along-to-get-along" boy for the Domina he so faithfully has been serving. However there really isn't a democrap a$$ in power he doesn't kiss with his tongue. What a comical fool. Sitting in Baby Jane's house trying so desperately to be important. How sad that adults can be so deluded by themselves.

The funny part is ANG can't even locate the City Mission. Someone hand him a map of the community. It's not across the street from Proctor's. No wonder the Gazetto and the TU laugh at his daily press releases. We look forward to many more laughs like this from The Spotlight-that believes this is real news. With legislators like ANG in the majority we need a good laugh.
