Retired top military brass push for Romney

By Stephen Dinan - The Washington Times

November 4, 2012, 03:33PM

Five hundred retired generals and admirals are running an ad in Monday's editions of The Washington Times calling on the country to elect Republican Mitt Romney on Tuesday.

In plain terms the officers, who paid for the ad themselves, said they support Mr. Romney: "We, the undersigned, proudly support Governor Mitt Romney as our nation's next president and commander-in-chief."

The ad then goes on to list all of the officers, in alphabetical order, in four columns of print.

The retired admirals and generals said they decided to take this public stand to try to head off "having to live through four more years of what has been experienced since January 20th, 200

WHY I’M NOT VOTING FOR OBAMA
~ BECAUSE I CAN’T REMEMBER ANYTHING BEFORE 2009.
~ BECAUSE GAYS DON’T DESERVE THE SAME RIGHT TO MARRY THAT NEWT GINGRICH DOES.
~ BECAUSE I’M RICH AND HEALTHY, AND BELIEVE I ALWAYS WILL BE.
~ BECAUSE ROMNEY HAS BUSINESS EXPERIENCE, JUST LIKE HERBERT HOOVER AND GEORGE W.BUSH.
~ BECAUSE MITT ROMNEY LOOKS MORE, UM, UH, PRESIDENTIAL, IF YOU CATCH MY DRIFT.
~ BECAUSE SARAH PALIN’S LATEST FACEBOOK STATUS SAID I SHOULD VOTE FOR RYAN AND ROMNEY.
~ BECAUSE I’M WORRIED OBAMA WILL TAKE MY GUNS IN HIS 2ND TERM, EVEN THOUGH HE’S DONE NOTHING
ABOUT GUNS SO FAR.
~ BECAUSE ONLY PAUL RYAN AND MITT ROMNEY WILL SAVE MEDICARE FROM SOCIALIZED MEDICINE.
~ BECAUSE AMERICA DOESN’T NEED A PRESIDENT WITH A FUNNY NAME, HARVARD LAW DEGREE, AND
FATHER BORN IN ANOTHER COUNTRY.
~ BECAUSE DONALD TRUMP WOULD NEVER STEER US WRONG.
~ BENGHAZI 8% SOMETHING SOMETHING FREEDOM NOT RACIST.
~ BECAUSE I’M NOT BETTER OFF THAN I WAS 6 YEARS AGO.
~ BECAUSE I WANT TO GIVE GEORGE W. BUSH’S POLICIES ANOTHER CHANCE.

In his latest television ad President Obama makes four new promises to the American people. But before Americans assess Obama’s plan for a new “economic patriotism” they should check to see how will Obama has fulfilled the promises he made the last time he was asking for their votes.

Jobs
Obama promise: “If we create a new energy economy, we can create five million new jobs, easily, here in the United States.”
Obama reality: U.S. economy has lost 261,000 jobs since Obama became president.

Spending
Obama promise: “Actually I’m cutting more than I’m spending so that it will be a net spending cut.”
Obama reality: Federal spending is up 27 percent since Obama became president and will be up 40 percent by 2016 if he is reelected.

Debt
Obama promise: “I’m pledging to cut the deficit by half by the end of my first term in office.

Health Care
Obama promise: “In an Obama administration, we’ll lower premiums by up to $2,500 for a typical family per year.”
Obama reality: Health insurance premiums have gone up by $2,370 for the typical family.  http://washingtonexaminer.com/obamas-failed-promises-in-charts/article/2509581#.UJkiQIbdshw

Every Politician in the US has made bazillion promises before actually getting into office, only to realize they had no ability to keep 90% of what they promised, but figure, "OH WELL...SH1T HAPPENS!", and they move on. I have no doubt many of them, including Obama, actually meant well and really did have the desire to fulfill their promises. But in Washington, there are too many stupid political roadblocks that wil prevent this from happening.

I hope Romney does not win, but if he does, let's see how he does with his prmises.  Especially the one that he said he would balance the budget in 10 years...interesting...two terms woul dbe 8 years, so he would be out of office when this balancing was suppossedly to take place!!! TRICKY MITTY !!!!

Reps deserve to lose running this clown. If the Reps put their money and power behind Gary Johnson you've got a new president. Great choice picking the guy that created Obama care to run against Obama care. If you voted for Romney you really wasted your vote.
