Many good people have moved to Schenectady in recent years -- to make derogatory comments about these newcomers (many of whom happen to be persons of color or persons from a variety of ethnic groups ) is clearly UNTRUE and would strike most rational, reasonable persons as racist/bigoted speech.
The same kinds of bigoted comments were made about the immigrants who arrived from Eastern and Southern Europe a century ago ... I thought we had made progress in eliminating such evil thinking -- but apparently we have not and the GOPers who post here and make those kinds of comments are dragging their party back into the dark ages.

Many good people have moved to Schenectady in recent years .
Twice as many good people have moved or have been forced out by over-inflated assessments and skyrocketing taxes. No one seems to mind that so many have left the City for Niskayuna, Glenville and Rotterdam.
BTW today is assessment grievance day...get in all your forms!

BTW -- my ancestors from Eastern and Northern Europe were not peasants .. they owned land and owned businesses --- and left "the old country" about 50 years before the rise of Communism. My ancestors from Scotland arrived at Plymouth on the second ship and helped to found Rhode Island.
