“At this point in time, she’s not going to proceed with running for office,” Donovan said Friday.

Lazzari resigned her job with the town shortly before Supervisor Steve Tommasone left office in 2009

This is a win-win. Instead the other Lazzari we get the other Viscusi. McGarry/Tommaselli/Viscusi your REP Unity team. Anyone serious about checks and balances now has a choice.

Who cares if the REPS know each other or not? The problem is that the voters know FDG and his pathetic DEM crew. They will think twice and three times before voting for any DEM for town office. Ditto for County which has devolved into a total joke. Anyone with half a brain is heading to Saratoga County. The ones left are there for one reason-themselves. And more working together nonsense.

looks like the big GOP ticket is falling apart...and quickly.   Soon they will be unendorsed by Judge Reilly and maybe we'll see some new candidates emerge?

I think its absolutely amazing what Steve Tommasone, Gerard Parisi and John Mertz did to the Rotterdam Republican Party.  That is the talk of the town NOT Peter Guiderelli and George Amedore.  Steve, the spinelesss jelly fish blew it by not standing up to those two ego maniacs.  The difference is the Dems reign in their problem children, a show of real leadership, the GOP turn a blind eye.

Brian McGarry is another spineless jellyfish or not???

How can you even say jellyfish and Brian McGarry in the same sentence??? You can say alot of things but one thing about Brian says "NOT SPINLESS" all over the place. Please... r you kidding me???

Candidates interested in the vacancy include former board member Stan Marchinkowski, Mark Viscusi and Jim Villano. Viscusi is not related to Mike Viscusi, who is running for the board on the Democratic ticket.

I believe that the Gazette misreported the name of one of the interested candidates.  It is Joe Villano, not Jim Villano,  And, no
relation to Holly Vellano.

I question if the reporter spoke w/ Jim Villano when researching the story.

Right, it is spelled differently and they are no relation. I believe he may be a young attorney in private practice.

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

Looks like an admission in that article that the gp lawsuit will prevail...now they are going to do a run around the town committee and have the county endorse...and just have a repub caucas to endorse!  Looks like gp will have to sue the gop again!  When will they learn?

It's ok - at least they're consistent in getting silly things like FACTS wrong.   Jim or Joe ... Sam or Sally ... accused or charged ...  facts have no bearing on any story in that rag.  And when enough people complain, or lawsuits are threatened, they'll print an apology on D2, bottom right.

Referring to candidates from ALL the independent lines....Alliance and NNTP as jellyfish or spineless is delusional and misguided at best. The truth of the matter is.......ALL of these independent candidates, on the contrary, are the only ones withthe strong desire and vision for 'change for the better'.

The two party system, that has failed government miserably for the past decade and beyond, needs a wake up call. The electorate is sick and tired of being sick and tired of being misrepresented. And the independent candidate seem to be the only ones listening and are up for the challenge.

They are not retreads and have little if any recycled name recognition in politics. They are new, fresh and come with new positive vision and positive ideas. The electorate is calling that 'a breath of fresh air and another choice'. Something Schenectady county has needed for a very l-o-n-g time!!

Good luck to all of the 'new' independent candidates!!

I hear that there are A LOT of other candidates interested...one name I heard a few people talking about at price chopper is kevin march. I hope this is true. March seems like an honest guy and I bet he'd do a good job! At least he wouldnt be out for his own ambition unlike the rest of them...

I have been watching town board meetings for years and i belive mr march has been a long time active participant.  Probably never received anything for himself either just a concerned resident.  But the parties will never run an actual independent candidate

I also think Mr March would do a great job! He has always spoken up for regular citizens when he thought there was wrongs being committed. We need someone like him, someone who doesn't look out for himself but for all of us. Someone without connections and someone who truly wants to benefit the community.
