How about he doesn't have a choice because the state is broke and the state can't pay for all those expensive union benefits that the unions were promised by previous administrations. Unfortunately it may cost Cuomo union support in the next election even though he's doing the right thing for the state.

However, I predict that cuomo has his eye on the white house in the future. If he can get ny out of debt and appear to be like aChristie/NJ who is also going after the unions..........he just may make a run for the presidency in the future. It would be a tough sell since Ny gov's aren't looked upon as white house material.....dem or rep!
Although his stratton/savage appointments won't win him any votes since they both have the high honor as governing the highest taxed county in the state!!!
