....and stay away from the city.

It's going to cost you more to come into the city, it's going to cost you in car repairs.

Yep, DV says give money to downtown, give millions of taxpayers money to downtown and then he supports exemptiing them from paying property taxes.

So, the financially struggling homeowners have to pay incrased taxes to pay for taxes of the millionaires downtown, the financiallyt struggling homeonwers will have to spend even more money to fix their cars thanks to the damage caused by the poor road conditions in the city which is due to failing to spend money on the raods because DV's socisalist dem buddeies were giving the money out to the millionaires.

I think we should all write to newspapers in cities all around from where people would come to proctors and inform them that they need to be aware that their cars might be damaged by coming to Schenectady.   Perhaps the bus companies need to be told too.

Antoher thing.  Hull for mayor????????    If you look at the list in the paper today, one of the worst is Sewerd Place - locaiton of where Hull raised taxes on the financially struggling homeowners buy removing all those houses form the tax rolls.

So, this is another bad thing that the downtown projects have done.

Here is a starting list of results of the downtown projects:
(I'm sure readers can up with many more negative results, wonder what kind of positive results DV will come up with)

1.     Plummetikng property values

2.     Substantially higher property taxes on residential hoomeonwers

3.     Substantially higher crrime

4.     Substantially high number of houses abandoned or vacant

5.     Big loss of city services.

6.    Being taxed twice for trash collection   (first through the property tax AND then through a trash fee--a fee already increased once, perhaps twice.  DV refuses to acknowledge this but people DO pay for trash collection through BOTH the tax AND the fee)

7.    Substantially high numnber of houses put up for sale; and the vast majority of them sit unsold after a hear on the market

8.    Faiure of the city to spend money to enforce trash storage rules---which has resulted in trash being dumped by city snow removal crews into the park and then, the city pleads with residents to do volunteer work to clean up the park.

9.    Failure to declare snow emergencies to facilitate PROPER snow plowing

10.  A city with THE HIGHEST taxes in the region, a city located in the county with the 24th highest taxes in the whole country    YIKES !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

11.  And now, road conditions that are so utterly deplorable that it's causinng big car repair bills to the people that travel the roads.

12,   Substantial drop in mortgage receipts to the city

The Gazetto finally realized that the City's street are a total disgrace because of total incompetence of DEM "leaders". Where were you last week when the DEM rubber stamps decided to forget road repair and flush the additional Federal monies down the toilet? Right-worried about the rising price of not gas but ice cream.

The choice is continue the DEM implosion or vote for Roger Hull. Union College is not responsible for street repair on Seward Place. Yes, everything outside the fence must be taxable including Seward, the old Ramada Inn and GE Plot mansions. Roger Hull is not perfect. He should be more Conservative and give voice to the struggling property owners, small business community. But the alternative of a third term for Stratton is unthinkable.

I agree.........Hull is the ONLY choice to begin to turn the city around. Schenectadians can no longer beat their heads against a brick wall and be told that it feels good. It is killing you!!

Hull and his group have GOT to be given a chance to turn the city around. If Mccarthy gets elected....NOTHING will change. At least the city has a choice for the first time in years, and a good one at that!!!

I am sure that the community would throw a party if MC  left and crawled back into the sewer that he-she came from.

Once agtain, you continuously refuse to engage in INTELIIGENT conversation.

Do you think it's good that roads have been ignored so much, that people have to shell out money to fix there cars on top of paying the taxes for the millionaires, all while the tax money is going to downtown?

Hos is it good that roads and neighborhoods are ignored in favor of welfare to millionaires, welfare to gin mills, while neighborhood sare ignored and people struggle financially.

He can't dispute the facts so he starts the mud slinging. He can't defend the fact that the Dems have raised the taxes so high that Schenectady is number 1 in the area for high taxes, the roads and infrastructure are shot, people are leaving the city, even Morris, high crime, empty houses that no one can sell, and DVR wants more of the same.

He wants to continue the DEM implosion hoping he will get a scrap from the movable feast. When the facts are against you dazzle them with mud slinging? Stop expecting any intelligence from the other side-then you will not be disappointed.

If what u said were true, that you were trying to expose things, then perhaps you would serve a purpose. But from what I have read, what u really are doing is spinning constant lies.. 99 percent of the stuff you write is malicious crap. As for the 300k readers, that is BS... this is mostly you ten trolls clicking 100 times a day on the site.. that is what is generating the traffic. there are only 200 signed up posters. hardly an overwhelming population of the community.

My believe is that most people click on here to see what nasty things you folks are saying.. this is more of a gossip site than anything else.

Why do I stay -- I suppose it is to balance the insanity and try to expose you for what you really are -- lying sacks of S%%ts.... so I will remain and I will continue to shine the flashlight of truth into your troll holes.

I love a good joke, that is why I come here.

Absent from your little analysis is the fact the Rotterdam and Scotia rank sixth and seventh -- why not explain to us why rotterdump is so high in taxes?

One doesn't need to be a "registered" user to be read and be enlightened on what's actually happening in this town.

Must be a really insignificant site if the DG and TU take excerpts from here frequently.

Without the involvement of THIS forums members, a Metroplex audit may never have been completed (and wasn't until brought up by forum members)

Ron, and You - wouldn't be here defending the administration(s) nearly every day.

'nuff said.

Do the ten trolls include DVR/SB? ROTFL!! Keep shinning a flashlight on your fat rear end. Nobody reads this blog? That's why the Gazetto quotes from my posts verbatim. Keep defending the DEM political pigs-we need the comedy.

MT, Smoking doesn't read the Gazetto or TU because most of the facts stated here were printed there as well even the bad roads, vacant houses, high taxes, and high crime. Notice he says that the people here are constantly spreading lies but SB fails to tell us what they are because he knows that the there aren't any. Yes Rotterdam taxes are high and went up greatly after the reval was done due to the money owed to the county because of the increased housing assessment which has since dropped thru the floor and we all lost 1/3 value of our homes but the assessment is still high.

The town taxpayers are carrying the load in the county and paying for the city's ills too. Thanks to Judy Lagostino, TJ Hooker and now Holly Vellano and Angelo Satanbarbera.

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

He fails to realize that both Scotia and Rotterdam are actually in Schenectady County. Subject to the same outrageous taxes, fees, Metrograft and Savage DEM politicians.

SB, could you please provide some proof that 99% of the stuff is lies?

1.  Myself, I have posted here that the taxes in the city are the highest in the capital region.  Pleae provide the tax rates from all local cities to prove that this is a lie.

2.  Taxes in Schdy Co are the 24th highest in the whole U.S.     What documentation, what link to a website other than a tabloid site can you provide to say this is a lie.

3.  A family with a total income of $30,000, the median in the city, is paying their own property taxes AND the taxes of most of downtown  (It maybe getting paid through homeowners own proeprty taxes, or paid by the occupants who pay rent which goes to pay taxes.).   Most all of downotwn is exempt from property & school taxes.  And when downtown dosn't pay the taxes it would otherwise pay, that burden is shifted to the residential taxpayers.  Do you claim this is a lie?   Please provide links to official county records that show that these properties are not tax exempt.

4.   People in the city pay "twice" for trash collection.  They pay through the property tax AND the pay through a trash fee.  Is that a lie?   Please provide proof it's a lie.

5.   Crime is up.   Is that a lie?   If so, I'm sure you will provide a link to government records that have the statistics that crime is going down.

6.   Roger Hull, running for mayor, has consinuously refused (when he headed Union col) to pay any PILOT to the city.  He took hundreds of taxable properties off the tax  rolls, which of course results in the tax burden to be added to the tax bills of the taxable properties.   Is that a lie?    Please provide the documentation that shows the addresses of all the houses Union has bought up and proof that taxes are being collected.

7.   Homeowners are paying the proeprty taxes for the multi-billionaire Paul Mitchell.  Accoring to Forbes (in 2009), the guy was worth $4 billion.  Property taxes of a billionaire are paid by typical households with a median income of $30,000.   His property is 100% tax exempt.   Is this a lie?   Please provide a link to official government records showing the property is not exempt.  Or can you provide proof that households with incomes of $30,000 are exempt from paying their taxes.   Can you do that?

8.    The roads in the city are deplorable.  Not only do people who drive through the city make that statement, but the top engineer in the ctiy makes that statement.  So, is this a lie?   Are you a civil engineer that you can dispute what the city engineer says and what drivers say?  Perhaps you can tell us what college you got your masters in civil engineering, and maybe you can indicate whether you have your PE, when you try to explain why the roads are not deplorable.

9.   Many of the sewers are in poor shape.  THis is proven by the people whose basements get flooded in heavy rains because sewers are so bad.  Is this a lie?  I guess you can provide proof that the photos that have been in the gazette and the comments and claims by homeowners are all fake?

10.   The mortgage receipts in the city are down.   I guess you can provide proof otherwise, via government records (the smae records which prove the receipts are down.)

11.    Property values of city houses are plummeting.  Is this a lie?   If so, then I guess you can provide proof, via links to official government records showing the sale prices of arms' length exceeds the assessed values?

12.   Many houses are up for sale as people try to flee the city.   Houses are not selling, even the best of houses in the best neighborhoods are not selling (examples, house of the former Schdy school superintendent has been for sale for at least a year, still no buyers; beautiful house in the historic GE plot had no interest buyers---it finally went to auction).   I guess these are lies.  I guess you can provide records of all sales in the county showing that many many many houses in the city are selling?

13.     The dem team rewarded a pair of delinquent scumlords with a huge profit on a buidling that they themselves cause damage to....the Foster building, the owners chose in 1999 to not turn the heat on, the pipes then burst causing a million dollars in damage, they never did anything to fix the place, they let it rot, they failed to pay taxes on it and then the taxpayers rewarded then with a quarter of a million dollars for the building (if memory serves me correct, the revenue stamps will show they paid about $100,000 to $125,000 to purchase the building), they got the assessement reduced to $20,000 and still were behind in taxes.   While they were delinquent on this Foster bldg as well as many other properties in the city they own, the dem team gave them huge sums of money and did not require that all property taxes were paid out of their gain.   Is this a lie?  Perhaps you can provide indication that they were not paid a quarter of a million or that they were not delinquent on taxes?

14.    Graduation rates in the high school is going down.  Is this a lie?

15.     The development downtown was supposed to increase the tax base.   With virtualy all of the new/fixed up buildings in downtown exempt from taxes, I guess you can show how the tax base has increased?   How houses have increased in value?

16..   Schenectady does not properly plow the roads, the dems have never declared a snow emergency and follow the city's laws of odd-even parking and rarely do they even tow cars.  Even  Carl Olsen was quoted in the paper indicating that not they don't get cars moved.

These are just a few statements I've made.  We are all interested in what documentation, what proof you will provide to prove that 99% of what I say are lies.   We all waiting for your response
