Democrats know how to work together to get the job done

Especially snow jobs! Great job on street repair? Who's working together on that one? Working together works-to reward DEM contributors while taxing the silent majority into the poor house. We're number one in taxes! While the incumbent DEMS are all full of number two.

Quoted from JackBauer
WRGB's website has an article about how 1 on 3 young people plan to leave NYS, and 1 in 4 older adults plan to leave within 5 years.

This is the legacy of progressives.

More entitlements, more government workers, more benefits for government workers, more social programs.

Less jobs, less tax revenue...  A total collapse of the system.

Glenn Beck says it's all planned.

I say it is incompetence.

Rob Lowe was on the O'Reilly Factor sometime in the last week - and it was very interesting.  Someone who use to be a left wing zealot is now absolutely in "the middle".  He summarized political views as liberals are driven by feelings for the people, conservatives are driven by logic.  I found his description very interesting.

I'm actually have a lot of empathy for others, but logic wins over that empathy every time.

The fact is that Schenectady is better off today than it was 10 years ago .. up to that point the County and, in particular, the city had been on the road to decline for at least 50 years ..  we are at least back on the road to growth and improvement.

GE is expanding its operations and hiring .. there are more businesses employing people downtown than there were 10 years ago  .. this is all part of the upward road to improvement.

You and your ilk are living in the dark fantasy world .. believing everything is evil and doom.  The fact is that the city and the county are improving and will continue on that road blazed for us by many folks - across party lines - who actually understand what "Working Together Works" means .. people who actually work hardto BUILD UP their communities  ..... unlike you, MC and your ilk who have added NOTHING positive to this community in your life and get your jollies tearing it down every chance you get.

If you don't like my positive attitude --- KMA and a get on the next train out of town.

It appears better because the window sills have been 'cleaned off'....kind of like the window sills in an insane asyllum.....

Would you care to explain how it is better?

Explain how HUGE increase in taxes, making the city the ABSOLUTE HIGHEST TAXED CITY around (and located in THE 24th highest taxed county in the whole U.S), translates to "better off" than 10 years ago.

How is the DRASTIC LOSS of ESSENTIAL, VITAL city services as compared to 10 years ago make the city "better off"

How is a the city "better off" whenb the property valules are plummeting????????    Huh?

How is the better off than 10 years ago, when no one wants to buy a house in the city????????

How us the city better than 10 years ago when there has been such a dramatic increase in vacant and abandoned houses?

How is the fact that virtually no one is buying a house in the city an indiciation that the city is better off than 10 years ago.

How is the substantial INCREASE in crime an indicator that the city is better off than 10 years go.

How is the city better off than 10 years ago when homeowners houses are suffering damage because the city has failed to take care of it's roads (because the money has been given to downtonw.)

How is the city better off than 10 years ago when children are shot in broad daylight when playing outside?

How is the city better off than 10 years ago when the city failes to properly plow the streets?

How is the city better off than 10 years ago when it has to close pools because it has no money to keep them all open (but it has money for gin mills and handouts to billionaires)

How is the city better off than 10 years ago when homeowners suffer flooded basements because the city fails to address sewer issues, when the city spends money on downtown millionaires rather than spending money on fixing sewers????????????

How id the city better off now then ten years ago when, with the millions of money spent on downtown, virutally NONE of ther visitors to downtown chooses to move to the city???????

How is the city better off now than 10 years ago when, on top of increaseing the property taxes, the city also institutes a  trash fee --- and then on top of starting a trash fee, they increase it once or twice -- -and that is a fee ON TOP OF the portion of property taxes that is used to pay for trash.....see, DV, you simply MUST acknowledge that the trash department is funded via the regular property tax AND ALSO through the trash fee (so the cost of trash pick up IS MORE THAN here in Rotterdam!!!!)

Hos is the city bettter off now than 10 years ago when no retail businesses (at least the businesses were people want to shop, where people could really buy things), are willing to open in the city.

Tell us DV, you claim the city is better off.  Tell us......in return for the highest taxes around, tell us what department stores have moved into the city, what furniture stores, what electronics businesses have opened, what lawn and garden businesses have moved here, what appliance businesses have moved to the city, what clothing stores have moved to the city, what grocery stores have moved to the city, what childrens' or baby needs stores have opened in the city,

it is better off because there is a revilatized downtwon, which did not exist 10 years ago. and that they people coming here have increased and are spending money -- perhaps things would be worse off if downtown were not revilatized, but that is a what if

as for infastructure problems,, they are common to every municipality, and the fact that services are still be provided, when it would be easy to slash them, is also proof that things are better//

Smokey.......I don't think it is asking too much for the residents, who pay the highest taxes in the state, to have their roads maintained. While the elected officials were spending and giving away taxpayer's money to relocate and build businesses, rome was burning and was totally neglected. Would things be worse? There was a promise to clean up Hamilton Hill. That promise not only never came to pass........Schenectady is now home to TWO Hamilton Hills.

Could the reps have done better? Maybe...maybe not! But the fact of the matter is......here we are!!! Backed in a corner with no place else to go except tax even more to sustain the beast. Well, the taxpayers can not sustain the beast any longer. A decade ago, the plex promised lower property taxes and instead they have gone out of site. So your suggestion is.........????

See, they do things like pour hundreds of millions into social services, an outdated nursing home, patronage jobs, DSS jobs, and idiotic ideas of rebuilding Erie Blvd and building a new Taj Mahal for city work trucks (20 mil) while neglecting the required and routine maintenance on the infrastructure that IS ALREADY IN PLACE AND NEEDS THE MAINTENANCE AND REBUILDING.

It is as if you were a home owner who had a 50 year old home that needed insulation, a new roof, new windows, a new driveway, some new plumbing and paint. Instead you put in granite counter tops and an in ground pool with a huge fountain, and then go into debt traveling to the Caribbean 4 times a year and donating 50% of your salary to charity. This is how our local government functions as operated by the imbecilic and corrupt criminals gang-the democraps. Then when a hole opens in the roof and storm water pours in, or your car gets stuck in the driveway because there is a foot depp pothole, or water won't come out of your pipes in the morning, or your heating bill is $800 in the winter, everyone is SHOCKED! But the trips to the Caribbean go on and the donations get larger, and everyone sits down and decides to open a new credit card to continue the same course of action. Eventually they get a price to fix the roof and because they need to use a connect union outfit they pay $30,000 when the guy across the street paid $5,000. This is the brilliance of local government and actually government at all levels in America today.

It is a criminal, traitorous and barbaric attempt to destroy us and enslave us via the incompetence of the political class.

Show us the proof, SB.  Show us where the homeowners in the city are getting more services for their higher taxes.

Tell us SB, show us, from news reports, what other cities have the among the highest taxes in the whole country AND have streets that their own city engieers say is critical, to the point where peoples very own homes are being damaged.

Well,. come on, provide the proof.  You can say any words you want, but provide the PROOF

And you claim people are cooming here.   Sure, people might come to see a show at Proctors.  AFter the show is over, are they moving here?   Are they buying a hoiuse here?   DOT with it's high paid employees, fancy engineers, lawyers, and accountants - tell us how many of those high paid people have chosen to move to the city.  Well?????    Come SB aka DV, despite months and months of being asked that question you have STILL refused to provide even ONE namer of some high level state employee from DOT who has bought a house in the city after DOT opened here.   Tell us what high paid execs of the banks and insurance plans and the ritzy hotels have bought a house in the city since their jobs brought them here.

Hell, SB, even Philip Morris who gets his almost $200,000 taxpayer funded salary is gotten the hell out of the city.

Provide some proof how how houses are selling in the citiy.  The last Schdy county list of real estate transactions (uh, they DO come from the official DEEDs, that is the official government documentation of houses that have sold, but of course, not owning a house you would not know this), the last list published in the Gazette shows maybe a half dozen houses purchased in  the city, the rest were houses that people bought OUT of the city.

So show us, provide some proof that people are coming here, provide us some proof that houses in the city are selling quickly.

And tell us what is revitalizd in downtown??????   Show us how it is revitalizied.  Where are the department storess  No, wait, show us ONE department store that has opened downtownb as result of the tens of millions of taxdollars and as a result of increasing taxes on homeowners in order to give millionaires 100% tax exemptions.  Where us the clothing storers that have opened, show us the electronic stores that have opened, show us the music/DVD stores that have opened, tell us where.   Where are the craft stores.  Where are the stores to buy furniture, hardware and tools, wedding gift needs, seasonal decorating, pet needs, jewelry, cosmetics, etc., etc.?

Your definition of a revitalized downtown is a socialist gin mills by taxing people so high that they lose their homes to tax foreclosure?  YOur definition of a revitzlized downtown is welfare to miillionaires by taking money from the homeowners and making the neighborhoods dangerous?
