How did they know the rest of the people in the compound were not strapped with explosives?

They didn't, but whats your point?
They dropped anyone that was perceived as a threat. I have no problem that OBL was taken out with a Dem President in office...it doesn't matter to me.

I have no problem with what president killed him...But don't think I'm going to sit here and just swallow the inconsistent message that has been coming out of the White House and not question WTF actually happened.  The muddling of the information should make everybody question the whole thing, regardless of political persuasion...To tell you the truth, I think Bush knew Bin Laden was in Pakistan and allowed him to live there under the eyes of Musharif and the Pakistan military.  You know what they say, keep your friends close and your enemies closer.  For both Presidents, I don't think this was a question of WHERE but rather a question of WHEN.

With the constant stream of lies that have been coming out of Washington for decades, I can't believe you will sit here and accept this at face value.

The face value is OBL is now fish food and has assumed the current temperature of the Indian Ocean.
Did Bush and Obama know where he was for years? I doubt it..Bush had too big of an ego not to take OBL out given the chance.
The circumstances of OBL's death will start the conspiracy theorists going for sure. Most conspiracy theories are pushed by people who can't buy a relatively simple explanation for an event. Take the JFK assassination...two or three gunman? Bullshit.. Modern technology and science has proven that the insignificant scumbag, Lee Harvey Oswald, took out JFK, just like the Warren commission said he did.

Well, when the government paints a picture of OBL as some mystic and elusive boogieman living in the caves of Tora Bora, and all the U.S. technology of spy satellites and all the worlds intelligence agencies are hunting him down for 10 years to no avail, then we find out he was living in a well fortified hut in a upper middle class neighborhood built within a mile of a Pakistani military installation for the past 5 years receiving kidney dialysis.  It makes you think, we are either wasting WAY TOO MUCH MONEY on our intelligence agencies. or Bin Laden was being saved as a political trophy to march out to affect public opinion.  Hearing all the conflicting stories coming out of the White House in these first few days, it has to make you wonder.  I'm not doubting this happened, but the way the White House botched the facts of the incident leads me to believe they are adjusting the narrative for political reasons.

Looks like the whitehouse won't be releasing the pictures after all. I think the story is BS, is Bin Laden dead yes, did he die Sunday no, why would they make this up, to justify policies that are very unpopular right now. I'm already hearing how nobody is complaining about the Patriot Act since supposedly it was used to get intel on Bin Laden. Let's see what else, oh we got intel from Gitmo, yup the same one that was being blasted by the left and a growing number on the right. And it gets better, now they can justify the increasing amount of bombs being dropped on countries that we haven't declared war on. What are we left with, no body, no pictures, no proof at all, only the word of a government who's trust is being lost more and more everyday.

Yes it may sound crazy but it's even more crazy that they wouldn't show proof of the man who killed thousands of Americans. Oh but sure we don't want to offend any Muslims even though they love airing videos of decapitations. Do you think showing a photo Box will really outrage the middle east any more than us dropping bombs on them, get real.

With all of the bald faced lies that have come out of the white house for the past decade, should make EVERYONE question EVERYTHING that they try to shove down our throats.

Americans do not trust their government officials/system....no matter who they are. The right and left are totally disillusioned with the conflicting stories coming out of the white house regarding OBL's death. They are optimistically cautious at best....and so they should.

We were told that there were WMD...and there weren't. Now we are told that OBL is dead with conflicting stories of how he died. Come on folks.....it doesn't take a rocket scientist here!

Conspiracy thinkers? Nope....just folks who finally want the truthful FACTS!!!

Obama doesn't want to inflame the Muslim world by releasing Bin Laden picture, but has no trouble lifting the photo ban of flag draped coffins.  It's nice to see who Obama is appealing to.  Not military families.

Some people want to celebrate the lives of their fallen, and share their fallen hero with the American people, while others want to hold them a little closer to the vest and keep it private. We should respect that.

‘It shouldn't be up to the government to hide these images to the public.’

‘But at the same time, I don't know that we can allow the press to overstep the bounds of good taste in some of these instances.’

A University of Delaware professor who unsuccessfully sued to force the government to release pictures of flag-draped coffins returning home said taxpayers should see the cost of war.

‘Of course we respect the families, but none of these caskets is identified in any way and there's no invasion of privacy in the first place,’

Many of the complaints of the Bush Photo Ban came from families of the fallen.  They wanted to celebrate the life, and honor the death of their loved one, who gave his life for his country, with the entire country... Other families wanted the ban kept in place.

never ban photos of the fallen....it reminds us of human nature....we may be civilised but with controled chaos at best....

Binladen should have been shown dead....

I think he has been dead for a while....but the 'idea' of him still alive allows for more CT scans at the airports and some realID crap....

does everyone feel lovey dovey and safe?

kiss kiss kiss,,,,hugs all around
