I am not aware that the people that own Blue Ribbon have taken or applied for any hand outs from the mob that runs Sh_t City. If they have please inform. We generally know who the major takers are, and they are quite conspicuous as being tied into the socialist gang here in town, and the defend the politico mafia to the death at each opportunity since their bread is so thickly buttered.

Why go to Blue Ribbon? Bellevue Cafe is closer, more reasonable and much better food/service. La Dolce Vita did not receive a governmental handout. Yes, very Las Vegas circa 1965 but there has to be a place for the older crowd. Not everyone wants to be drink around the Bomber/Ditch kids.
you might be surprised .. but some people do actually travel beyond the borders of their town .. and certainly a person can support businesses IN town AND in other areas as well
as for the Bellevue Cafe -- i patronize the place at least 3 times a week .. but only for take-out orders .. they have great soup and certain entrees are exemplary
if our family is going to have a sit down dinner in the area .. it is at Tops or Farmer Boy or Blue Ribbon or Turf Tavern or Dolce Vita
and quite frankly .. I really don't care what other people think of the food and/or service at those places .. My family and I love those places and love the owners and staff of those place .. and thats that

I too, go out of my way to patronise locally owned, independent businesses (stores and restaurants), even when I'm out of town, and very rarely am I disappointed.
If you travel for any reason, and frequent "chain" restaurants or stores, then you might as well have stayed home.
Frankly, I don't go to Mexican restaurants around here ... when I visit my sister who lives in the Southwestern US .. there is a small family-run Mexican restaurant that we patronize --- they make everything from scratch there. No place east of the Mississippi comes even close to making authentic Mexican food like they do.

Who was minding the new Nisky Chipotle? On Nov. 29, a Chipotle Mexican Grill was scheduled to open in Mansion Square on Balltown Road, the newest business area in Niskayuna. On Nov. 29, the very day it was to open, in a very small article on the back page of The Daily Gazette’s local news section, a spokeswoman for Chipotle explained that due to gas and electric issues, they were unable to open. It seems that the Niskayuna Planning Department, and all who oversee these projects in town, could do a better job. Certainly if they were to open that Tuesday [Nov. 29] , there should have been a certificate of occupancy issued by the town, and it should not have been issued without the gas and electric since that also has to be inspected. That area used to be one of the most beautiful areas in our town, now we have what appears to be a dump. Thanks to all, and let’s not forget John Roth, the developer.
It will be open soon enough. Mansion Square will be a HUGE improvement for that property -- am looking forward to its completion.

Chipotle is a second class restaurant with prices that are too high. I would be more than happy to drive just a couple miles down the road to go to their competition, Moes. I also would hope that Moes would open a location in Schenectady County, so that I could keep my tax money here, but considering NOBODY can find a job in Schenectady, at least going to work, I will be closer to their location in Albany.

Yeah, those trees and stately old mansion were terrible eyesores.

Well considering we have NO CLASS candy store on Albany Street -- a 2nd class restaurant will be a good thing.

You'd have to have some class to be able to determine if anybody else did, so since you don't, I summarily dismiss your teardown of Uncle Sam's Chocolates, a fine small business in our community THAT PAYS THE FULL AMOUNT OF IT'S TAXES, unlike the businesses on the Metroplex Mile.

As someone that is involved with Moe's I appreciate the kind words. Moe's has been looking into Schenectady county but haven't found the ideal location yet.
Not another restaurant......no wonder we are overweight and undernourished....
I don't have the money to eat out....make home=made food....how does everyone manage to pay for meals outside the home...
I know....they have a job....
You're not kidding.
Using Google Earth, I found 37 places where you can eat within a mile of my house (Woodlawn near Balltown), and I seldom go to any of them, and I have a job.
I also have 5 good sized supermarkets, which I frequent quite a bit, and quite a few smaller ones. I have a very well equipped kitchen, and 3 out of 4 people that live here cook quite well (2 of us are "foodies"). The only time I go out, is for pizza, Chinese, or a special occasion.
As a result, none of us are overweight or have high cholesterol. We also save quite a bit of money.
