Obviously, the GOP is so desperate for a candidate that they had to endorse McGarry ... because if you had vetted him .. you would realize that the guy is not town supervisor material .. maybe town board .. but knowing his views on issues-- I wouldn't feel comfortable even appointing him to a a commission or a committee of the town.

I wouldn't have expected any less from you. Of course you wouldn't endorse or support mcgarry..... a REAL CONSERVATIVE. You and the democons would never endorse someone who believes in smaller government, less government intrusion in personal lives and lower taxes like mcgarry and the rest of the nntp folks do.

When have the local DEMS ever endorsed a candidate with a spine? They prefer the willow tree types bending towards the fat envelope. The recent zoning debacle was instructional. Maybe this time some illegal DEM signs over there will disappear before Christmas?

He was fair -- he listened and reviewed the information from both sides .. and made a decision. I would not have voted the same way .. but I respect his decision because he did do his "due diligence" and gave his vote a great deal of thought.
How was he fair? He said he had his mind made up before he even spoke with the residents. He never listened to both sides. Some of the information he based his vote on was completely untrue. Land given to residents - not true. The number of signatures he said were on the petition - inaccurate. Mr. Calder compared MFH to his own development, he was disappointed he said because they built more homes on his street. How is that the same!? He admitted he knew nothing about zoning or the town code, based his vote on what his engineers and the Chair of the Zoning Board told him. What engineers is he referring too??? Mr Eates said they hadn't even looked at the project yet. If his vote is going to be the deciding vote, he should have some training and knowledge of the issues, he shouldn't be relying on how others are telling him to vote! Is he going to be there for the residents if drainage,traffic and other issues come up???? How do they get around the actual engineer's report? It really doesn't matter if he's a nice guy or not. Everyone said from day 1 that this was a "done deal", so I guess it is and there is nothing fair about that. Next time they shouldn't even bother sending out the notices for a public hearing, it's a complete waste of time.

Not well spoken, not well informed. Totally unprepared and unqualified to serve the town. It is obvious that his endorsement is part of a deal worked out between the Democratic Party and the Conservative Party Executive Committee.
Mr. Viscusi may be a "good man" (I don't know) but nothing that I have seen or heard supports your assessment that he is a good candidate.

this is yet another clear example of the democon's endorsements!! Someone who proposed an in-law tax which in turn increases the tax on the remaining taxpayers. Not to mention opening the door for corruption since these apts are all over rotterdam. And how many are 'for profit'?
