The understatement of the month. A freakin DEM circus. They go to Troy for a secretary. The only thing they got right was punting Surprise. And FDG is sitting pretty?-lol-According to who? The sooner we turn the page on this REP inside baseball which 3 people care about and move forward the better.
Hey Bumble 15,469 posts later and your still running down the Dems. Get a life you freakin nut job!!
Hey...I ain't running down 'all the dems'...........just the ones that belong to the 'friends and family club'. Oh that's right........they ALL belong to the same club. Foolish me!!
And I'm an equal opportunity player..............it's not just the dems.........it's the cons too...hence....democons!

Here's the wrap for all those who want to know what really happened at the Reps meeting.
Jim Longo was present, but voted by proxy because he is a candidate. Makes sense to me. Proxies were returned to those in attendance. Since Jim didn't object to the votes either scenario works.....17 members 8 proxy votes for 25 or 16 members and 9 proxy votes to make 25
We had a death and a resignation which brings the committee members down to 48 bylaws state that a quorum is total amount of committee ppl divided by two plus one.....
There were others in the audience that did not vote.
Contray to popular belief, Tracy has been a committee person since 1992, She has also been on the E-Board in many capacities...as Treasurer and as Secretary. She is not a novice to this process.
Town bylaws also state that the notice must reach the "post office" within 5 days of the said mtg. I got mine in plenty of time to return to Tracy via the mail in the event I wasn't at the meeting.
I support Tracy who believes this was a legal vote. I guess the judge will decide.
Off to a great election cycle with this kind of nonsense. I wish all those that just want to create havoc and controversy would form their own party and leave the Rotterdam reps. We have a great slate of candidates and despite all the naysayers, we have a good shot at winning. The candidates and the rest of the Rep committee don't need more of this.
Brian McGarry is honest and a people's candidate. Just because he is up against a proven winner doesn't mean he can't win. Rotterdam voters should get to know him. If they do, they'll support him.
Yeah I'm sure the 2 attorneys are going to risk looking like an idiot in front of a judge to argue what you say they are HH....Perhaps, just maybe, the rules don't say what tdonovan said they say.........

Thanks Huskyhowels....now all of a sudden Gerard wants to have a sitdown and "discuss" this. I let his very good friend Lynn know that he could of (prior to the lawsuit he called) get together so he could look at each proxy, ect. Of course he did not even try to contact me then. ....
interesting There were others in the audience that did not vote.

I welcomed him to call me through his very dear friend Lynn but he neglected to take that opportunity. I guess he would rather go to court. Now it looks like some folks want to talk abou things.....
This was a minor distraction. The action must be withdrawn and a sitdown take place. There was a quorum and proper notice. It's time to unite and bring checks and balances back. Thank you HH for ending the hearsay and false allegations here.

Actually I heard that there is an email chain going around that Buchanan wants the sitdown to settle this... BTW Benny There was no quorum and the notice was improper I hear that's why TB wants to meet he doesn't want the committee to be embarrassed by a loss in court especially after all the personal attacks on gp!
Were you present at the REP meeting? Sorry but will believe the HH eyewitness account. Not surprised by the intense negative reaction to GP's legal action. This should have been settled beforehand with a sitdown.

First..........there should have been a 'sit down' right from the beginning instead of airing it in the media. That move only places the issue in the court of public opinion.
Second............personal attacks?? Are you serious? They are 'personal opinions' based on the collective information aired by GP himself.

Chairwoman defends picks, says attack related to past grudge
A Rotterdam Republican Committee member is alleging his party’s recent candidate endorsements aren’t valid, but his colleagues maintain the vote was handled properly.
Former Rotterdam Town Board member Gerard Parisi filed a lawsuit Friday, April 22, with the Schenectady County Clerk challenging the legality of the April 14 endorsements made by the Rotterdam Republican Committee, of which he is a member. Parisi’s two main claims are that proper notice of the meeting wasn’t provided and there weren’t enough committee members present to hold a legal vote on endorsements. In addition he claims the proxy votes counted in the meeting have not been supplied to him as requested.
“It was really done improperly. I am just looking to have it done the right way,” said Parisi. “I don’t know if they didn’t realize it, or if they did it on purpose … nobody has responded to any of my questions to give me an answer.”
Tracy Donovan, chairwoman of the town’s GOP committee, said the endorsements were valid according to the by-laws of the committee. She said the list of committee members Parisi is using is also not accurate.
“We did have enough according to our bylaws, we did have enough for the vote,” said Donovan. “He has an old list of committee people … I don’t know where he is getting all this information.”
Donovan said she believes there is a connection between past events and Parisi’s current claim against the party.
“I think he is upset he didn’t win the [September 2010] primary against Assemblyman George Amedore, and at the time when Rotterdam endorsed him they [county Republicans] claimed it was an illegal vote,” said Donovan. “There is only speculation, but it seems awful coincidental that when he made the challenge to George’s seat, it was an illegal vote back then.”
Donovan said while that claim was made on a county level, no legal action was taken, and Parisi was able to take part in the primary. Donovan also said Parisi appeared to have a grudge against the No New Tax Party, which was formed by the Republican’s endorsement for town supervisor, Brian McGarry.
Parisi said he doesn’t understand how his race against Amedore has anything to do with the lawsuit he has filed, and he has nothing against the No New Tax Party.
“If there is a legitimate endorsement then I have no problem. … If it is not done the proper way, it is not a legitimate endorsement,” said Parisi. “If a judge says they do [have legal endorsements], then I have no problem with it … but based on the information I have, it doesn’t appear to be the case.”
Besides McGarry for supervisor, the town Republicans endorsed Chris Tomaselli and Aurelia Lazzari for the Town Board, incumbent Highway Superintendent James Longo and incumbent Town Justice Kevin Mercoglan.
Donovan said there are fewer than 48 members active in the committee, and there were 17 current members present voting with nine proxy votes, equaling 26 votes, which would be enough votes if all were valid.
Parisi said there are 48 members in the committee, according to his list, and of the 19 individuals in attendance, five of the members signing the resolution were not committee members. Also, of the nine proxy votes, Parisi claims at least one submitted was not a member of the committee. Parisi said he wasn’t at the meeting because he was out of town.
The mailed notice Parisi received was postmarked five days before the April 14 meeting, but he said he did not get it until April 11. Parisi said notice must be received, not postmarked, five days before a meeting.
Donovan said the majority of people that are active participants in the committee had known about the upcoming meeting through verbal discussions at recent events and through emails.
Second............personal attacks?? Are you serious? They are 'personal opinions' based on the collective information aired by GP himself.
The only personal attacks have been at Tracy who is trying to pull the REPS together. She deserves support not litigation. This is called trying walk it back.

If this is true, than it needs to be changed. It should always be by postmark. Just like when we file our April 15th taxes. No one has control over the postal service. So a postmark is the safest method. And since HH stated that TD has been involved with the committee and the bylaws for years, it appears that she knows what she is doing..........no?

I read the papers and based on my reading GP tried to get the records from the chair and the secretary and because they DID NOT RESPOND he filed the lawsuit because it was the last day to file it...Was he supposed to let them not respond, wait until the statute of limitations expired and for them to not aknowledge the fact that rules were broken?
