As long as she leaves the County Legislature, doesn't matter what she does or doesn't do.   Just go, Sue, go!

I understand...but the last no-show gig paid her 100K/yr. to be absent...kind of like our Town Clerk except the Savage Beast
will be fleecing taxpayers for twice as much every year...and probably for a lot longer.

Just remember that they still have the power, and with the rules as they are, they get to appoint her replacement on the board.  They're probably doing it now so that the replacement is already in office and can be the mouthpiece for a while so they have name recognition by election time, hence another incumbent to get (re-)elected.

Mirrors the same scenario in Sch'dy with the Mayors switcheroo.   Do it early, the switch,to maximize exposure for the canidate up for election.

The salary for this useless political lob job is $106,000 and no way she will hang on as long as EE. It's a horrible appointment but the glee on both sides of the aisle at the County Building is a sight to behold. Even Stratton had a few supporters. This "leader" managed to alienate everyone. This must end the idiotic Downtown library addition and the new County nursing home.

It's also the same thing that happened a few years ago, I think it was District 3's Martin Finn who was seated the same way.

It won't help. The last thing the residents of Nisky/Glenville want is yet another DEM/Savage puppet on the County Legislature. The REPS and real CONS need to get their act together and nominate a popular candidate to run with Farley/Buhrmaster.

After Savage's performance on the Glenville Nursing Home fiasco the DEMS are as popular in Glenville as a skunk at a church picnic. Savage is fleeing because she know sshe never be re-elected especially after she got destroyed in her joke State Senate race. Gone but hardly forgotten.

Appointments for two leaders of the highest taxed county in the state doesn't say much for the cuomo administration.

What's hilarious is the universal delight in her fleeing. Not just on this board but also on the TU and Gazetto. DEMS are in the forefront of the many celebrations. Clubhouse has it right. Workers at the County Building cannot contain their glee. At great weight has been lifted off of many shoulders.

A story in Friday’s editions on Susan Savage’s plans to leave the Schenectady County Legislature incorrectly reported how her position will be fi lled. The Legislature must appoint a replacement within 45 days and a special election will take place in November for the remainder of her term, under provisions of the county charter.

SCHENECTADY COUNTY
Dems caucus Sunday on Savage successor

BY JUSTIN MASON Gazette Reporter
Reach Gazette reporter Justin Mason at 395-3113 or jmason@dailygazette.net.

Members of the Schenectady County Legislature’s Democratic majority will caucus Sunday to discuss the likely replacement for departing Chairwoman Susan Savage.
The person appointed to fill the seat will serve only through the current year, though Savage’s term extended through 2013. The appointee will have to run this November to retain the seat. The Legislature cannot vote the appointment for at least 10 days after the resignation is formal, midnight Sunday; that decision can be delayed up to 45 days, leaving the seat vacant in the interim.
Savage, a Niskayuna Democrat representing District 3, on Thursday announced her resignation to take a job as assistant deputy commissioner for the state Office of Real Property Services.
Vice Chairwoman Judith Dagostino, a District 4 Democrat, will assume Savage’s leadership post on the Legislature for the remainder of the year. Legislators could choose a new chair during their organizational meeting on New Year’s Day 2012. ............................>>>>.......................>>>>......................http://www.dailygazette.net/De.....r01402&AppName=1

Ah ha!   I FIGURED IT OUT !!!!!   I know why Cuomo got her in a position that has to do with property values, assessments, and taxes!

Cuomo wants to keep people in New York State.  He has seen Savage's accomplishments in the city.  She has succeeded in keeping people in the city of Schenectady.   Under this savage Savage, if you own a house in the city, you have two choices, stay in the city OR leave the city by virtue of abandoning your house and lose all your equity and investment.

Which is the better choicde?   A HUGE financial loss by staying in the city and paying the high taxes?   Or a HUGE financial lose  by abandoning your home?

So, it will be stay in NYS and pay the high taxes or leave the state and your equity behind.

Of course, there is a big cheerleader for this savage woman, shaking his pom-poms (can't do the jumps though). cheering with delight, but then, that's typical of anyone who is an adult but lives off others and is not a responsible indepent mature adult

Optimists close their eyes and pretend problems are non existent.
Better to have open eyes, see the truths, acknowledge the negatives, and
speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies.

Oh suzie isn't in this new $100K position because she is 'good'.......... it's because she has been a good party loyalist by supporting the tax and spend frenzy that is killing NYS. Not to mention, I'm sure she whined on how she quit her last $100K state position to run for a state seat, as Ang did, in which they both lost miserably.

Ya see......... this is her reward........at the taxpayer's expense. She knows she can't get elected to 'anything'. She's done with elections.

If cuomo were really true to his word, which obviously he's not, he would have sh!t canned her because it was in the best interest of the nys taxpayers.

Promoting a government official that has governed a county that is the highest taxed in the state, says it all about this present administration.

SS Savage was burning up the phone lines to secure anything in Albany. After she got wiped for State Senate the writing was on the wall. She couldn't win in Rozendale. She will be a major issue in November. Anyone who associated with her and went along on her wild spending spree is finished.

I agree. Anyone that presently sits on the highest taxed county or city seat will be hard pressed to win another election. Their only hope is to pray for a cushy patronage job like savage got!! Just like Kosiur!

Wow, You folks are truly twisted. You really need to seek professional mental health assistance. The level of hate and bitterness here is amazing. I will pray for you. And, I mean this sincerely, I feel sorry for you and for how you feel. It is a sickness that u have, truly. You need to understand what is going on inside your head and seek a remedy for your torment. This goes beyond politics. It is pathological. Believe me when I say this, because I have seen these symptoms before, this is a mental illness. Wow....

I love a good joke, that is why I come here.
