SCHENECTADY, N.Y. - Officials say one woman was burned and another woman and child had to jump from a second-story window during a pre-dawn house fire in Schenectady.
Fire fighters arrived at the scene at 927 Stanley Street shortly before 5:30 a.m. Monday morning.
The unidentified injured woman was flown to the burn unit at Westchester Hospital. The woman and the 4-year-old child who leaped from house were taken to Albany Medical Center.
Dozens of neighbors were taken out of their homes surrounding the fire for safety.
The victims' conditions were not immediately available. News10 will proceed to give updates throughout the day.

The woman never made it to the burn center this morning. They took her to Albany Med because she had stopped breathing several times.
The house has been torn down. I watched them do it at about 4pm today. |

It is sad. And very scary. They lost everything. I was talking to a friend who lives on Emmett right behind the house. He said he was smelling smoke at about 2am. So it started off slow and was burning for a while before anyone knew. |

Didnt take them long to get the house down. The plot is all filled in and just looks like an extended yard now. The house next door suffered some damage and they have the siding off now. They were working on it today. |

SCHENECTADY -- A woman badly burned in a Schenectady fire has died.
Sharol Simms -- the owner of the building at 923 Stanley St. -- died from her injuries over the weekend.
A massive fire ripped through the home last week forcing another woman and her four-year-old son to jump from a second story window to escape the flames.
Simms was rescued from a rear stairwell and was flown to the Westchester burn unit before being diverted back to Albany Medical Center.
Investigators are calling the fire accidental.

I heard that the woman was trying to go upstairs to help the woman and 4 year old. How sad! |
