They have all shined up the General Patton Helmets and gotten out their riding crops. Off to war go the anti-war protesters!

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

The Righties on this board are soooo desperate for Obama to fail... any failure, so that GWB won't look like such a boob.
They are happy to pay higher prices at the pump, get their homes foreclosed, even go to war, just so that they can draw any similarities to the Bush failed presidency.

Like their GOD, Druggy Rush, they pray that Obama fails.  If Obama succeeds, where Bush has failed, the entire Right Wing agenda is in jeopardy.

It sure is entertaining to watch!

Rangel: Obama Needed Congressional Authorization for Military Intervention in Libya
Rangel says he would “like to believe” that members of Congress are looking into whether or not the President’s actions are an impeachable offense.
Thursday, March 31, 2011
By Nicholas Ballasy

(CNSNews.com) - Following a closed briefing for members of the House on the U.S. military operation in Libya, Democrat Rep. Charlie Rangel (D-N.Y.) told CNSNews.com that President Obama did not have the constitutional authority to use military force in Libya without Congressional approval. Rangel added that he would “like to believe” members of Congress are looking into whether or not the President’s action is an impeachable offense...................>>>>..................>>>>......................................http://www.cnsnews.com/news/article/rangel-obama-did-not-have-constitutional

there is no polar opposite in their own right......both parties parlee to the same music only with a little different style.....history and the
retelling of it is the only way to see.....and that doesn't include the personal/religious aspects of the deceased(we weren't there)...
failure for any military action is in the inability to make the affected area accept our Disney movies and Hershey bars.....

Obama/bush/reagan/carter.....all live in the same vacuum only they like to use a little dance step to pretend they are different....

war will always exist even if we prefer not to say the word outloud.......

the problem is when our own country cant decide what is reasonable to act on or not.....without a declaration the country is fractured..
and that is a black eye on both parties and their inability to lead......America has borders both physical and in spirit.....

...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......

The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.

Another war for oil? Right that's only when Bush is President. So what if oil and food prices are through the roof? We have a President who wanted to close Gitmo and mirandize enemy combatants. That's what the people are really concerned about. Insuring the alleged rights for those who want to kill us.

WILL PRESIDENT OBAMA WILLINGLY VIOLATE THE WAR POWERS ACT?
Posted on May 21, 2011 at 6:49am
by Billy Hallowell

Is President Obama about to violate federal law?  It’s possible, though the administration is currently exploring several options that would enable a continued presence in Libya without superseding executive powers.

It’s been two months since the president sent Congress a letter announcing the U.S.-led mission in Libya. And now, 60 days later, Obama’s time frame for securing Congressional approval has expired.  The 1973 War Powers Act requires that the president get congressional authorization at the end of the two-month mark.  If permission isn’t granted, the mission must conclude within 30 days.

Deputy Secretary of State James Steinberg recently testified that the president has operated under the War Powers Resolution since the beginning of the Libya mission and that he will continue to do so.  But, unless the president has plans to make major changes to U.S. involvement in the mission or find another work-around plan today, he will find himself violating federal law.

Lawmakers on both sides of the aisle are less than pleased with the lack of protocol being employed. CNN has more:

Rep. Brad Sherman, D-California, tells CNN he believes Obama is trying to “bring democracy to Libya while shredding the Constitution of the United States.”
“He cannot continue what he is doing in Libya without congressional authorization. When a president defiantly violates the law, that really undercuts our efforts to urge other countries to have the rule of law,” Sherman said…
Sen. Rand Paul, R-Kentucky, concurs.
“You could say, ‘Well, we have a good president, he’ll do the right thing.’ Well, someday you may have a president who does the wrong thing, and that’s why you have rules, because you can never count on people being good people,” Paul told CNN..................>>>>........................>>>>..................http://www.theblaze.com/stories/will-president-obama-willingly-violate-the-war-powers-act/

White House on War Powers Deadline: 'Limited' US Role in Libya Means No Need to Get Congressional Authorization

May 20, 2011 7:14 PM
In an effort to satisfy those arguing he needs to seek congressional authorization to continue US military activity in accordance with the War Powers Resolution, President Obama wrote a letter to congressional leaders this afternoon suggesting that the role is now so “limited” he does not need to seek congressional approval.

“Since April 4,” the president wrote, “U.S. participation has consisted of: (1) non-kinetic support to the NATO-led operation, including intelligence, logistical support, and search and rescue assistance; (2) aircraft that have assisted in the suppression and destruction of air defenses in support of the no-fly zone; and (3) since April 23, precision strikes by unmanned aerial vehicles against a limited set of clearly defined targets in support of the NATO-led coalition's efforts.”

A senior administration official told ABC News that the letter is intended to describe “a narrow US effort that is intermittent and principally an effort to support to support the ongoing NATO-led and UN-authorized civilian support mission and no fly zone.”

“The US role is one of support,” the official said, “and the kinetic pieces of that are intermittent.”

From the beginning of the U.S. military intervention in Libya, the Obama administration has cited the 1973 War Powers Act as the legal basis of its ability to conduct military activities for 60 days without first seeking a declaration of war from Congress. The military intervention started on March 19; Congress was notified on March 21. Those 60 days expire today.  http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalpunch/2011/05

I'm more lovin the UN Charter that was violated.  Ralph Nader is anti ANY military action, and he is consistent in his anti war positon(unlike you and many who used the anti war rhetoric as political fodder against Republicans)

I'm still waiting Boxy - is this an illegal war waged by the Obama?  Should Obama be impeached?  Is he a war criminal?  UN Charter clearly states that they don't get involved in matters within the domestic jurisdiction of the state.  That includes Libya right?  At least Iraq had a UN resolution passed creating a "no fly zone" and UN Weapons Inspectors AFTER Hussein's invasion of sovereign nation(Kuwait).  Obama/Clinton imposed a no fly zone for a domestic civil war.   MAN...What a hypocrite.

The UN was a masquerade as a legitimate and necessary organization to address issues that transcend national borders...but it was
nothing more than a vehicle to usher in "global" policies meant to dissolve US power and the sovereignty of nations.

The UN Charter is the worst thing that ever happened to America...we should withdraw, take our funding and throw them out of NYC.

Your President doesn't need anyone's help in failing...he's doing a perfectly good job of that all by himself.
