Got a letter from a company that says Health Net is missing info, a security breach and that all my info is on it, SS number, name address and financial records etc : (
This is a new breach happened in Jan. 2011, some states upset they waited this long to contact anyone. So I have to check my credit reports and they want me to sign up with a company called debix for identity protection but i want to read up on it first.

sometimes I wonder if this a ploy by the machine to get everyone to 'voluntarily' sign up for 'monitoring'.......read the small print of who is allowed into your 'protection plan'......be careful....crooks come in many forms and are insidious......

Health Net, Inc. Investigating Unaccounted-for Server Drives
Health Net, Inc. has announced that it is conducting an investigation into several server drives that are unaccounted for from its data center operation located in Rancho Cordova, Calif.
This investigation follows notification by IBM, Health Net's vendor responsible for managing Health Net's IT infrastructure, that it could not locate several server drives.
After a forensic analysis, Health Net has determined that personal information of some former and current Health Net members, employees and health care providers is on the drives, and may include names, addresses, health information, Social Security numbers and/or financial information.
While the investigation continues, Health Net has made the decision out of an abundance of caution to notify the individuals whose information is on the drives.
To help protect the personal information of affected individuals, Health Net is offering them two years of free credit monitoring services, including fraud resolution and, if necessary, restoration of credit files, as well as identity theft insurance. These services will be provided through the Debix Identity Protection Network.
If your information was on the drives, you will receive a letter from Health Net explaining your next steps. If, after reading the letter, you have any questions, please call Debix at 1-855-434-8081.

And not too long ago I went to the library and after having a library card for over 40 years, they all of a sudden wanted my drivers license and made a copy.

that's for when books/knowledge/info becomes all digital and web based.......electronic signatures......like filing taxes on line....
our individualism freedom is insidiously getting usurped thanks to the progressives and the hippy socialists......it's coming and we have no one to blame but ourselves.....dont worry about cash---it wont matter, it will become 'units'/'vouchers' etc........instead of street gumba gangstas shaking down for cash, they will live in 'the matrix' of our lives and we will have no view/understanding of the systems and how they work, only being led by our elected legislators and their podium pucks........
I was threatened by homeland security as were others about matching SS card with drivers license......I had all I could do to not launch over the counter at the poor worker......

each insurance company is highly regulated.....dont think this crap isn't on purpose in small doses can place fear in folks hearts/minds....when they cry 'uncle' and all the invasive technology is used against them for their own good......
