Every 6 months the tenants in the buildings around me change.

3 months of not paying rent, then 3 months to get evicted.  No kiddin, lived here 11 years it's a hoot to watch.  They move in, Arrons rental comes 2 days later followed by Time Warner and the process reverses itself about 6 months later although sometimes Arrons and Time Warner come sooner. Grin.  TW is always up on the pole disconnecting something or another.  What a trip to watch them loading the uhauls at midnight just before the sheriff comes.  Oops needs to git back on topic with this post...

Just when I get used to the music from one set of folks dag nab it another set moves in. The music varies with each. Comes from their apartments with their windows open or they park their cars in the front of the buildings and open the windows or they bring out the music blasters as they sit on the porches.

Closing my windows here really makes no difference the offending noise is the low bass used.  It shoots right through the walls and windows..  It is more a feeling then a hearing issue.

This year the writing is on the wall of what summer is going to be like. Have the various offenders already pegged with the nice weather out there today.

There is no way our PD could ever address this issue. They have so many more serious issues to attend to.  Frustrating.

Not gonna move cause the rent is good.  Just have to live with all that comes with.

Just needed to vent..   Oh well feeling better now.

The bass really irritating.

Boy we could make some money, imagine inventing a universal remote that you could shut off loud car stereos, boom boxes etc from the comfort of your home : )  I can just imagine it .

Hey, few ideas.  Sometime of the day these music people have to sleep, right?  Get yourself something with good speakers.  Put on some classical music, or some opera, oh how about some of the chant stuff that the old fogies used to listen to in churches.    Maybe DV can get you some polka music.  Anyway, blare it as loud as you can from your window.  If they call the cops, tell the cops you'll turn yours down when the cops stop them from blaring the so called "music" that those other places play

Didn't the military use days of loud Rap Music in an attempt to break Manuel  Noriega in Panama?

No doubt that tactic is now on the list of banned interrogation practices of the Geneva Convention.

Cel, perhaps the landlords aren't screening their tenants very good! Month after month, year after year.....sounds like a landlord problem to me. If they are renting to section 8, the landlords are guaranteed their money...so they don't really care and have nothing to lose.

Sounds like a landlord issue. imho

I had to laugh at this because my upstairs neighbors do the same thing.  Well not moving in and out.  They play the loud music.  About once or twice a month, they start playing it at about 6am and it will go on all day til about 3am the following morning.  Its hard to tell what they are playing because the beat all sounds the same.  Last month, I wasnt feeling well and I had enough of it at about 2pm.  I called the landlord to come over.  He told me that he could hear it through the phone.  Thats how loud it was.  When he came over and tried to go up the stairs, the walls were vibrating and it hurt his ears.  Come to find out, its not a stereo.  Its a band!!  And the reason why I couldnt tell the difference with the songs is because they only know one song!!!  Ha ha ha... Needless to say, I havent heard them play since.

Most of the landlords in Schenectady either dont care who they rent to or they arent around.  Some dont live in this state.  They collect a check and thats it.  If it was me, and they are playing loud music, I would be in the basement cutting wires.  Of course wear a rubber suit first.  Or just pop the breakers and take them with you.  )  As for outside or cars, not much I can think of to deal with that.

OMG....a friend of ours had the SAME IDENTICAL issue. And it was a band too!!!! The only difference is that our friend lives in an apt in saratoga. The 'band tenants' finally moved out!

I am sure that is part of it. For the life of me I can't figure it out.  I know it costs money to evict someone.  Just don't get it but it is a laugh to watch.  Not to mention the following garbage day is the mattresses and box springs and old couches and chairs.  Not that there isn't a law that says you can only put one bulk item out at a time. But then again they sort of spread it out a little maybe the garbage guys can,t figure out who put out what.  Cant' figure that one out either.

Maybe it is a manager and not a landlord but even that doesn't make sense.  Ya gots ta hang around here for 6 months to see it.  It's a riot.  The music isn't.

Although they are pretty good at playing that one song, it was way too loud.  If it was heard over my phone, I cant imagine what it sounded like IN the apartment.

I came home from work today with my window open and thumping some tunes myself.  It felt good to outblast the idiot in front of me.  But then when I picked up my kid from school, I turned it down.  Ha ha ha...  I couldnt believe all the people out in the streets.  You would think they forgot what it looked like.  And of course, they were gathering in groups as usual.  (gangs)  Should be getting interesting now.

Cool it appears you have your needs met.  Nice to see you have concern for your kid but none for anyone else around you.  Me myself and I attitude.

I had a tenant that was blasting that one-beat music and I practically needed to bang their door in.  When I got in, the music was blaring right next to her new baby.  Might I say I screamed at the tenant and said she was deafening her new infant...guess who got in trouble.  ME!  Took me more than three  months to get them out.

but I'm sure if it was peter paul and mary you would sit right down and talk about recycling urine for water on the yellow submarine...
disclaimer: this does NOT mean I like rap/club music......
