Democrats should tap Jordan, not McCarthy

Re: March 1 editorial, “Who’s the best interim mayor for Sch’dy?”: I could not agree more. Sharon Jordan is the right choice to serve as interim mayor for all the reasons expressed in your editorial.
I worked with her many years ago when she was the head of the MHA [Schenectady Municipal Housing Authority], and she was, and still is, extremely competent.
My husband and I are registered Democrats, but we have become fed up with the politics-as-usual nonsense in this city. If the City Council appoints [City Council President] Gary McCarthy to the position as interim mayor in order to give him a leg-up in the November election, these two Democrats will be voting for [Alliance Party candidate] Roger Hull.

This is a common refrain you hear from DEMS. Even they are getting tired of the same old-same old in Schenectady. We need to return to checks and balances with a 2 party system.

Why in the hell would anyone want Jordan???? Wasn't she Stratton's 'mini me' or visa versa?

The key was he "worked" for her for many years. She was well known for hiring party loyalists. Schenectady's current implosion can be directly traced to the her SMHA "leadership". Taxpayers out-DSS in. REPS/CONS out-DEMS in.

McCarthy is Strattons echo and Jordan is mini me so you pick. Both agree that Stratton did an "outstanding" job. Of what? Nailing the taxpayers to the wall and employing incompetents from out of town.  The City Charter should be amended to have a special election when the Mayor departs.

Is this Louis Jordan we are talking about or Michael Jordan people want for mayor? Or are they confusing the Mohawk river with the Jordan riv...???

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

Michael Jordan would win in a landslide. Everyone is throwing out options to McCarthy. It doesn't matter if they want it or not.

Obviously that Tricia and Rick will probably be voting for the theft of more money from the taxpayer.  Just like Hull stole money from the taxpayer via taking so very many taxable properties off the tax rolls is no different than what Stratton has been doing.

I really wish Pat Z was running for mayor, but council is a good start.  As has been said many times, she is the only one who is not beholden to political cronies and the millionaires downtown.  She is for the taxpayers, the citizens, the overtaxed homeowners.

Optimists close their eyes and pretend problems are non existent.
Better to have open eyes, see the truths, acknowledge the negatives, and
speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies.

Unfortunately so many forget her involvement with this issue. She got away with it but we should never forget about it.

Arthur Zampella, a Schenectady police sergeant who also works at the housing authority, gave MHA officials -- including then-Executive Director Sharon Jordan -- copies of the police reports from Eric Smith's robbery on Nov. 21, seven days before Noorzai was killed. Zampella testified ``that `by all means' vacant or empty apartments should be secured and locks changed.''

What we are witnessing is the implosion of the DEMS in the City and County. The City residents are sick of the leaderships in Schenectady and now it's evident that many DEMS are against McCarthy as well. If Savage can only carry 40% of the County, McCarthy has no chance of election in the City.

Wow, where's the "Working Together Works"? Maybe that left town along with Stratton down the river.

working together works when EVERYONE is on the cash stuffed boat....but, the taxpayers aren't....they have been watching their
elected and gumbas ride it to their private island while the crime(by the plebs, never white collar) and decay persists......

I'd say the contempt and disgust is almost at the overflow mark, and there is no release valve

...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......

The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.

What DEM "leadership"? Talk about an oxymoron-a bunch of leaderless clapping seals. Where's the Metrograft dividend? Where are the jobs Death Ray? Where's the County home Landslide? Allen, DiCerbo, Della Salad, Stratton-last DEM out turn off the lights. The cracks in the DEM machine are widening. Anyone saying Jordan is saying no way McCarthy.

If the DEMS had a clue we would have seen it before now. Pat Z should consider a mayoral run. The peeps want vivid contrasts not someone that will keep monkey business as usual. We need someone that will throw over a table at City Hall and clean out the barn.
