HB would have been denied if ND had run, and she would have if there was no spoiler in the mix...but she's not so it will go to HB.

Quoted from bumblethru

So FDG will be considered the spoiler here?

I don't know how you concluded from this statement that FDG would be the spoiler, but I was referring to BM...his spoiler
declaration was released a long time ago.

That's unfortunate that you believe that any person wanting to serve in elected office is considered a "spoiler" because he/she doesn't subscribe to the traditional two party system.  As a conservative, I would have thought you would support this type of participation in local government.

Luckily in 1776, there were a group of men that were willing to break the tradition of blind loyalty to the King and transform the status quo in the name of liberty.  Peoples dogmatic allegiance to the parties is what is killing the country.  Americans have slowly allowed loss of liberties at the hands of both parties, yet anybody working outside the two party framework is considered a "spoiler".  I say horseshit to that.

Like George Washington said;
They [political parties] serve to organize faction, to give it an artificial and extraordinary force; to put, in the place of the delegated will of the nation, the will of a party, often a small but artful and enterprising minority of the community;

I never said that anyone wanting to serve in elected office is a spoiler. I'm assuming you are referring to BM...but if he doesn't
subscribe to the "traditional two Party system", why did he join one of those Parties and why is he seeking their support?

Oh and I'm quite familiar with our founding principles, thank you...and I have no blind loyalties

Folks are becoming more and more disillusioned with the present failing two party system. There are independent lines popping up all over the country.

In schenectady county alone...there is the nntp line, the alliance party line, STOP party line, fdg's party line........and perhaps there will even be another from the disgruntled faction of the rotterdam rep party..........perhaps?

I thought we went over this?  The way the current election system is set up, it gives a HUGE advantage to the two parties.  So you have to play by the current two party rules.  It's still about winning elections.  So in one sense I agree, you need those major party lines to win.  You can't transform the oligarchy overnight or in one election.  The two parties had 200 years to game the system and make the rules.  All three branches of government are stuffed with bureaucrats from both major parties.  This needs to be a long sustained battle.

The fact is, a parliamentary system would be a more representative form of government than what we have today in America.

Unfortuantely,some folks are beginning to think the same way. She is a con and yet is embedded in the goings on of every other political party but her own. Granted, ND is a registered con, so perhaps supporting her would be understandable.

Perhaps the split in the dem party and the rep party is suggestive of gadfly's involvement. Perhaps the dems and reps should stick to their own when it comes to information and advice......yes? Does the chair of the rotterdam rep party and the chair of the rotterdam dem party seek information or advice from her? And if they do.......why?

Something is clearly amiss here!

I always enjoy reading fiction.

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

how do you successfully serve on the ethics board?

aside from showing up, did he uncover unethical behavior and bring justice to rotterdam?

i hope he brings up the in law apartment tax break again.

But dont worry Rotterdam HB's no nonsense approach will bring order back to rotterdam.  Just like FDG running town like a business

The in-law issue will sink him! Rotterdam taxpayers are NOT going to agree on paying more taxes for the few. Mainly because there are in-law apts sprinkled all over rotterdam that are being rented out 'for profit', to renters and not used for family. He would be opening up a can of unwanted worms!! Not to mention that this proposal would benefit him 'directly'!!
