Bill Clinton... Fiscally Conservative Democrat.
~ Balanced the budget
~Took office from borrow & spend Republicans
~Left office with a surplus
~The US Economy boomed!

Fiscally Conservative Democrats aren't extinct, it's just that the Right tries to sell economic disasters like Ronny the ReyGun as a Fiscal Conservative.

The modern conservative is engaged in one of man's oldest exercises in moral
philosophy; that is, the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness.

The fiscally conservative Democrats were thrown under the bus by Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, and Obama b4 the last election so now there are very few of them left and the Democratic Party has been hijacked by the left wing of the party and the Repiblican Party has been taken over by the right wing of their party, thank heavens.

The GOP has been hijacked by the Reich-wing .... every Republican needs to be voted out of office in the next few election cycles.

And don't worry about us moderate and fiscally conservative Democrats  .. we are alive and well.

We the people spoke in the last election and said that we're tired of the Dems tax and spend BS. They're tired of supporting people who refuse to get an education, a job, and just sit on their butts, drink and do drugs, and live off the system that's now broke.

don't kid yourselves.....both parties are in solid with the special interest groups. They are all vying for the $$$$ associated with these special interest groups. They all throw the electorate a bone while they are continuing their 'politics as usual'. The 24/7 bias news outlets have fueled the political fire. It has just become a cheer leading sporting event.

I'm only generalizing here. Just pick your team and run with the ball, I guess.

The people are sick of wasteful spending and high taxes from BOTH parties.   The GOP is pretty good at
taxing and spending ---- take a look at Hugh Farley  .. he is the poster boy for all the "fat cats" who have pillaged the tax payers for years.     How exactly did Farley spend $85,000 of taxpayer money on two vacations ????      Did he stay in the Presidential Suite in both places ????     Did he have chauffeured limousine service driving him around Disney World ???     Did he have his own personal chef or just spend a lot of money buying the lobster and filet mignon?       Did he bill the taxpayers for the Mickey Mouse ears that he bought for his son Bob ????

Probably used the same jet's and room service that Pelosi / Reid / Biden / Obama's did.

I have to agree that Bush was no conservative and spent money just as well as any Dem could ever do, and just look at what decades of fiscal mismanagement have done to the country. You're right both parties have contributed to this mess and neither one of the parties has the guts to take any responsibility for it so they just blame the other party. We the people aren't stupid and can see right through the rhetoric and what ever party is in power had better follow the wishes of the people or in the next election they will be out of a job.

You have to admit -- the image of old Hugh Farley walking his son, Bob, by the hand --- Bob with his "mouse ears" on --- walking him around Disney World was probably worth the the 10's of thousands of dollars that it cost.     They probably had a birthday party for Bob at Cinderella's Castle.     One wonders if the birthday boy wore something frilly and pink to match  Cinderella's costume.

That's not as bad as Michelle Obama and her girls taking off for their Hawaii vacation 3 days early because they couldn't wait for daddy to get done with business... I'm sure it cost as much or probably more in extra air travel and security.

I have never said I condone the outrageous travel expenses of the President and the First Family.   In theory, the first lady and the children have to pay for their air travel on Air Force One ---however  that is far below what it actually costs to run the airplane.

But generally speaking, I have not had as much of problem with the travel of our Presidents (of either party) ..but i do have a great problem with the travel - at taxpayer expense - of our state legislators -- and even for our federal representatives and senators.
Pelosi's travel  expenses were through the roof -- and the expense for in-flight "adult beverages"  (that bill was over $100,00 just for  one year -- that is $2,000 a week of in-flight cocktails and other booze).   She was getting paid close to $200, 000 a year and comes from an affluent family -- yet she can't even pay for her own airplane booze ???
Representatives should be limited to  1- one way ticket  TO Washington at the beginning of the session (in January)    and 1 one-way ticket BACK HOME at the end of the session (the following December) --- period end of story.      They can pay for any other travel and for the food and booze that they consume while traveling.

Bill Clinton succeeded because he was a fiscal moderate and the REPS took over Congress after 2 years forcing him to slash spending. He cut the deficit and actually had a surplus. Stop comparing him to the current President.

As far as Andrew, contrary to the fairy tales here-his popularity is down 21% in one month. Wait until he cuts something. So far it has all been hot air. NYC is not mild about him and soon the Upstate REPS will wake up that like his father he does nothing but talk endlessly. State Unions are shocked that he still hasn't even worked with them. His appointments are terrible.  He honeymoon will end before Spring.

Actually --  Cuomo's popularity is NOT down by  21%  .. the Quinnipiac poll  asked different questions in its January poll and its February poll.    The  January poll was a generic .. how do you feel about Andrew Cuomo?   The February poll was the first to ask the job approval question.

That was straight from the director of polling at Quinnipiac College -- he stated this in an interview on the Fred Dicker show on Wednesday,  February 23.

FDG looked good to you too after 2 months. Straight downhill from here. After a while you must govern.

Andrew Cuomo knows how to govern and is doing so.   No comment on the other person mentioned.
