Oh DV, thanks for the warning, but when that stand opens, I'm sure my predictions will hold true. We have LOTS of lemons in Schenectady....... |

Mr Gillen has done a great job --- can't say that for the time when the GOP ran the Metroplex
A great job for his friends and family club. When Mr Manning ran Metrograft he actually listened, had open forums and brought in State jobs. Never under Death Ray. Everything is in secret and he's busy showing corporation sites-lol. This is what happens when you ignore a scathing State Comptroller audit and keep Death Ray who was a joke as Nisky DEM chairman. Like Quadafi the circle of stooges keeps shrinking. Landslide Savage now claims she created 3,500 new jobs! No one can find any of them (except at the DSS hot job stand}and the unemployment rate is still the highest in the area. |

The nattering nayboobs of negativity in the GOP and other parties just can't handle the fact that 8 years ago -- the city of Schenectady was down for the count ... GOP control of the County Leg had brought the city and thecounty to the edge of the cliff.
Today - because of the hard work of the Democratic team in the county and in every municipality within the county --- things have turned around ... progress is being made ... and while a lot of work still needs to be done.. the fact is WE ARE BETTER OFF THAN WE WERE 8 YEARS AGO.
The GOP is the party of no --- no competence --- no progress --- no ideas -- no jobs -- no future.
Voters -- Just say NO to the GOP. |

What a load. The DEMS have run the City into the ground with 35 straight years of City Council control. Eight years ago the City {because of State pensions} had to borrow to met operating expenses. Same this year. Nothing improved but years wasted and lives ruined. DVR refuses to see reality of lower State St, Broadway, Albany St, Crane St and Eastern. Hundreds of businesses have boarded up because of DEM high taxes. "DEMS understand the importance of high taxes"-Brain Quail. Nonprofits and tax exempt mooches line the golden 2 blocks by Proctor's. Proctor's has to take over Key Bank and Muddy Cup because no private business wants it. Same at old SACC-TV-one nonprofit out/another in. Here's whose profited-Stratton blasted off to Canal Corp, Landslide allegedly fleeing and Morris with his bloated salary. Meanwhile residents can't give away their property but are forced to flee the crushing taxation. |

it's on a ventilator.....do you know how one works? the air goes into ONE persons lungs and then out ONE persons lungs.... inspiration/expiration with air exchange in ONE person's lungs.....think of the county as the body and those 2 blocks as the lungs.....cant remove the respirator yet...how long before the rest of the body(county) gets the O2 exchange? |

The only people better off today in Schenectady than they were 8 years ago are the connected friends within the 'leadership' of Schenectady.
The homeowners of Schenectady are in a FAR worse position. Not only have taxes tripled in the past decade, but due to the high crime and poor school systems, the value of a home in Schenectady is close to nothing. Older homeowners on fixed incomes are packing up, the downtown 'Renaissance' businessowners live elsewhere as do most City workers and City teachers.
Hope Morris enjoys the hot meal at Proctors, many of the older Schenectady residents are struggling to have one. |

The City taxpayers can keep eating cheese sandwiches while Mercury Morris enjoys his comped New Yorker reuben. The Downtown merchants met the other day and it wasn't pretty. No one is buying the Mercury Morris/Death Ray crapola. Empty tables Downtown despite all the hype in the bird cage liner. Here's who is making money-Disney selling $20 made in China stuffed animals to the sheeple. No one believed the BS about lines at Muddy Cup. They were losing money, they wanted to flee, so Mercury Morris stepped in it. Anyone that says it should have been rented out to a private vendor who would pay rent is too negative. At a recent Lion King show NO ONE was on line for coffee at intermission. So Morris has solved the nonexistent problem he created. |

all the leaders of both major parties saw this coming....the lowering home values/higher taxes/public pensions and healthcare.....we have 2 choices here
1. they saw it coming cheated/lied/stole etc 2. didn't see it coming and are just plain inept
this didn't happen over night, it's not just happening in Schenectady or NY, and it's not finished evolving....but now is not the time to make fluff and stuff with straw you steal from someone else.....

Businesses in Downtown Schenectady, Glenville, Niskayuna -- are all benefiting from the Lion King .. I haven't spoken to any restaurant owners in Rotterdam yet.
Great job Mr. Morris --- keep up the great work. |

Except they are not benefiting. All of 3 tables at Bombers occupied before the show-worse attendance at other Downtown eateries. A lot of hype-no action at the cash register. This reminds me of the idiots that had special sandwiches and tea for Obama. Folks are eating at home and standing in line with their tickets. If they buy anything its a stuffed animal from the Disney hawkers. After the show they can't get out of Downtown fast enough, running to their cars. Most of the crowd is out of towners rightfully scared to walk around Downtown. Muddy Cup is a complete flop. The lines are gone because no one goes there anymore. A good place for Mercury Morris to grab a freebie reuben. Both Muddy Cup and Key/Morris Hall will lose more other people's money. While the DEM morons scream renaissance! |

What restaurant in Nisky/Glenville is benefiting? The Chinese buffet served 2 more dinners pre-Lion King because of the unified development team led by Death Ray and Landslide Savage! Another total lie. Restaurants across the street from Proctor's are seeing NO INCREASE. Downtown merchants are furious at the buffet in Key/Morris and these endless puff pieces. Disney will make money-taxpayers can go to hell. |

One wonders what the Lion King vistors think as they travel on poorly maintained roads leading into the city,(Union St. Elmer Ave.-Nott Terrace), boarded up/run down houses (Eastern Ave.),blight (State St.) and lets not forget the plethora of For Sale signs dotting the landsacape and poor conditions of so many neighborhoods. All of the previous UNDENIABLE facts. Do they ask themselves where is the renacisance? Or say, we thought the Plex was supposed to improve all of these existing conditions. Believe no one will buy a home in the city purely based on a downtown. The prevailing reasons against a serious consideration to purchase always comes down to the high taxes, Police Dept. issues, and the School Dept. fisaco. And throw in the conditions of the neighborhoods. Never once have I heard the Downtown miracle being mentioned as a reason to buy a home here. |
