All those records/history destroyed because DV didn't get around to picking them up for over a year, he should be so ashamed of himself. |

So you're saying Ron Severson was out on a cross country trip while our history floated away?

DVOR, probably left it up to his split personality Gravel Gertie to take care of them. By the way didn't he quit this board? |

He said we were boring or something one day and then that was it. He went away forever (not.) |

I find it really ironic that Ron Severson, self proclaimed advocate for "the people", and worker for the parks department - who's constantly told us how his family has been here for a hundred years, bragging about bringing new businesses into town, yet he was obviously entrusted with these documents, they're no longer available (except maybe down river) - yet no comment from him concerning it.

"They dissolved"
That is prolly all he could cough up if he was called into court on it. |

What I'm wondering is why the press hasn't picked up on the fact that Ron Severson let Rotterdam's History disappear. Maybe if they were tipped off, they could get some honest answers. Time to make a couple phone calls. |

Just like you were commited to taking care of the Towns Historical Materials that you were in charge of and had over a year to go and pick up but failed to do and now has all been lost in the Floods Great Job DVOR you make people sick
The facts are #1 - I was appointed Town Historian on January 1, 2011 --- so I did not have over a year to pick up any materials. #2 - Much of the town's historic materials are safely located at town hall and the senior center ... the only materials in the Junction were those in the possession of the previous Town Historian and the Rotterdam Junction Historical Society .... and I was told in January that those materials were going to be given to the Franchere Center when it opened. #3 - I was out of town when Hurricane Irene hit ... and no effort was made to contact me until 2 days before I returned to town (which was over 10 days AFTER the flooding began) .... at that time I made arrangements for town personnel to go to the junction and retrieve the materials and bring them to safety at the senior center but the custodians of the materials refused to let them be taken by town personnel to the senior center. |

My family has been in Rotterdam over 100 years ... I am a member of the Parks COMMISSION and not a worker for the Parks department and at no time were those materials ever in my custody or possession ... they were in the custody of the person(s) who held them. |

what a great historian.......someone who wishes businesses to fail! someone who want folks unemployed. Who will keep notes on that one for future history buffs?
A town historian who wants certain businesses to fail. That'll be a great legacy in the rotterdam history books, huh? |

However, as historian, they were SUPPOSED to be in your custody - you failed to do your job. Period. |
