Black Spidey--who are you kidding that Salomon was better than Calder.  That is laughable.  The Eddie Munster ringer doesn't even present well.  He may be a nice kid but a kid he is and he is definitely not ready for prime time.  Does that mean FDG with all his years is...emphatic no.  NO polish at all but he has business sense and that is why he won.  The Salomon kid is a little pisher who can only wipe up after himself.  I think you are running to his side because you share the love of law with him.  Loving law doesn't make you a politician.  Being a good cook doesn't mean you should be in the Iron Chef competition.  The Republicans have lost their grip and if the Democrats aren't careful they will do the same.  ST and Mertz took this party down the toilet with a lot of help from Buchanan.  Parisi tries to control from a place of anger as opposed to Buchanan who does it from a place of stupidity.  IF Calder decides to undermine FDG, he will crush the next opposing candidate.

Yossi read what I said... I said salamone was a child and wasn't up for the task and he still almost beat calder. Calder had all the support, all the help and all the lines. Salamone had himself and he almost won. For a child to be in the same league as calder is pretty laughable for calder...not because salamone is the next daniel webster but because salamone shouldn't have even been running. He should have been in diapers.

I would not characterize Mr. Salamone as a child.   He is a young adult -- and is also quite intelligent and personable.    Despite our differences on a few issues,  I would gladly hire him as my attorney or recommend others to hire him as their attorney.

young adult my a$$

he has done his time  -  adult

there are teenagers(young adults) in rotterdam with more worldly experience than FDG

what this town needs is leadership not in a single person but by a team with a stated direction

Talking to each other is better than talking about each other

How old is he actually? No disrespect to him but he can't be over 21? Is he even old enough to drink? Seriously Calder won a squeaker against a guy that isn't even old enough to drink! Real strong candidate there!

I didn't think he drank, or at least is not old enough to.

Rotterdam’s majority undermining supervisor

It is evident Rotterdam voters made a grave mistake electing Wayne Calder, Matt Martin and Nicola DiLeva to serve on the Town Board! Their actions of late have shown they have other ambitions! It is no secret Ms. DiLeva is looking to make a career out of politics and enjoy all the perks!
When Wayne Calder ran for offi ce, he was all for Supervisor Frank Del Gallo, cheering him on! Once elected, this has changed dramatically; rumor has it he plans to run against Del Gallo for supervisor. As for Martin, he seems to be led around by Ms. DiLeva and has no real sense of what he should be doing.
Our supervisor has made some dramatic changes that have served taxpayers well. He is serving as he said he would when elected. One doesn’t have to be a rocket scientist to see that DiLeva, Martin and Calder have been doing some “backdoor” activity to subvert our supervisor. Such activity is why voters elected Mr. Del Gallo, who is upfront with taxpayers on every issue.
I have no idea why our supervisor stays in a job he surely doesn’t need. It seems [his] serving without pay and putting in long hours isn’t enough to satisfy some.
It is also time for taxpayers to do some housecleaning and rid us of those who put politics over the welfare of residents.

GARY P. GUIDO

I haven't enjoyed watching politics this much in my whole life. I personally predicted the entertainment value would be priceless, yet I am even surprised at the extent. You couldn't make this stuff up. I know some prognosticators and participants on the other side who would agree.

Thank you Sue SaVAGE, you really know how to let your allies destroy one of your local parties.

A 10% margin of victory is not a squeaker.    And Salamone is 26 or 27 ....   you obviously don't know what you are even talking about.

"FDG is upfront with the residents on every issue?" WTF! Gary must be the only one that understands him. Another Gazetto editorial classic. As one political insider said the perfect size to line a bird cage.

Between the town jerk fiasco and the bickering town bored the Rotterdam DEMS have done the impossible. They look worse than even the horrible City DEMS. They managed to knock Gary McCarthy and his DEM stooges off the front page!
