RP- I just sent him an e-mail.    I also provided him with a link to this thread.

His address, if anyone would like it is: rneville@nycapp.rr.com. Their phone number is 372-6771. This is for the Schenectady NAMI branch. They also have a website for those interested: namischenectady.org/ If you are upset about McCarthys comments, send an e-mail and let your feelings be known.

I have spoken with Mr. Neville on one occasion in the past and he is a very nice man and will help if he can.

Just wanted to add an FYI- Roy Neville sent a letter to the editor that is posted here under the YMCA thread. It was just the other day. In it, he advocates for the mentally ill.

This goes beyond an 'apology'. This is just an example of what they think of the people who sit on the other side of the rail.

Like DVR always says..........they are looked at as 'negative'..........the nats of society! Only  now they have reached an all time low....MENTAL ILLNESS!!

People are still with their mouths open in shock of this statement!!! Hopefully the media outlets will expose this disrespectful, arrogant behavior!!

DV's reference to the negative, he usually means the rest of us who look out for the people.  We talk about financially struggling people having to pay the taxes of the millionaires downtown, and DV refers to us as negative nay something.

they are talking about this and replaying McCarthy on Rooney 1300 right  now!! OMG!!

Why why why didn't I get home and turn on the radio?   I'll have to check the website and see if there is a podcast of that show.  What did Roney say about it?

Hey, wouldn't you love to have Roney interview DV?   ROLFMAO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They played back the meeting right after the live feed and it was not edited.

Keep in mind I wonder how may residents know that the cable committee on the city council consists of Stratton,Morris and... McCarthy

There is no longer "Public" in Public Access TV of which the Government channel is part of.

I caught that it was replayed right after.  But I'm guessing that at the time of the replay, no one "in charge" realized what had been said.   I see it's on tomorrow at 7:00 a.m. and then of course next Monday again.  Wonder if it will be edited by then.  If they so much as edit it out, then that will show another democrat party cover-up.  EVeryting cover-ups and secret deals.

Wonder if DV has probably spent much of the day trying to help McCarthy & Co. save themselves (in hopes of getting a political job---he doesn't work, probably no real employer wants to hire him)

I hope someone can make sure that Mary McClaine sees this, because McCarthy frequently makes comments about her too, though less harmful yet still uncalled for.

Where is Pat Z?

So true, so true.   Oh, for the city hall thing.  But this isn't Albany, that's my McCarthy-like comment for the day.

After I posted that, I checked to see if they do have stuff of Al's on line and saw that it's like up to Feb 9.  Wonder if Paul will talk about it tomorrow.  I can usually listen in the a.m., either getting ready for work, driving in, and the first hour and half or so of my work day, then I catch Dicker.  But my work type usually has me interacting with others when Roney is on.  And I completely forgot about this by the time I was coming home.

SOmething else, you know, I'm quite surprised that the Schenectady board, i.e., the Schenectadyinformer.com doesn't seem to have anything.  Actually by the posting dates, it doesn't look like people even post there, that I guess is the one originated by Pat. but changed for some reason.  Want the real truth about Schenectady, you come to this thread on a Rotterdam forum website.

They won't edit it and I don't think they would ever edit a playback of a live show.  Not that I like OSM because I don't, they have taken "Public" out of Public Access but I just don't think they would do that.

But what I can envision happening is the city council members will call for ending all TV coverage of the meetings because of McCarthy.  Any public official should know everything they say is gone over with a fine tooth comb.  Denise Brucker might be the one that leads the way.  She has always been against open government.

Over the months of witnessing Mr. McCarthy's behavior  I don't envision him owning up to this.  He will blame it on the fact the Mic was on and demand all TV coverage stop also.  Now what a dilemma for him, he is on the cable committee and a OSM advocate.

First you have the topic... abuse by police which is a hot one, then you have the mocking out by McCarthy which we all are getting fed up with this behavior, then McCarthy making the statement insinuating there was a "mental health" issue involved just because a citizen spoke up.

I hope the citizens gather in number to the next CC meeting and voice their opinions on this matter.  Would be nice but will they?

After listening to the radio show on 1300am I think Al wasn't sure which one to focus on he was all over each one.

Recieved a  phone call from a council member tonight, she said she didn't hear the comment by McCarthy was focused on the young man.

Said did I know if the comment was directed at the young man, I said yes if you watch the video you will realize it too.

I had to bite my tongue a few times. Just talked to my brother who has been in the health field for many years . Told him that I told this council member that I as others offended at what McCarthy said and told her I have what is considered mental health problems. She said now get this that I sounded "ARTICULATE"  What is she surprised that someone being treated for depression can speak???!!!!!

I mentioned about this not being the first time McCarty has made comments and brought up Mary M as an example. Well she said Mary M is known to attack council members and shouldn't. But its OK for McCarthy to, OMG.

She said I should call McCarthy and let him explain himself instead of assuming it was directed at the young man.

Thats not going to happen . Waiting for the next meeting.

rpfpres, you and mc1 and everyone else involved in this 'mccarthy blunder' have accomplished the un-accomplishable in the city! Someone FINALLY got the attention of this city council!!! GOOD JOB!!

This council woman was nothing more than DAMAGE CONTROL!! Cause it was clearly none of her business. It was McCarthy's blunder!!

Now do as McCarthy and the rest of the city council would do..........IGNORE THEM!!! See how they feel for a change.

Again.....GOOD JOB at exposing the gross arrogance by these elected officials!!!

It's not just nayboobs anymore! VICTORY! Al Rooney Talk 1300 {2-6pm} played the clip over and over. What did Gary McCarthy say and why would he say it? The whole world was watching and now listening.

Bravo to MC1, RP, Cel and all those that made this happen. Many hands make light work? The sheeple have finally found a voice and a forum. Everyone knew the insult was directed at the speaker. Of course the City Council is trying to poo-poo this horrible debacle. Great job by all the administrators to make this the place to be for local news and views. Hopefully, this victory will embolden the growing opposition.

Think again dvr..............it goes WELL beyond this blog!!!

You should "think again" -- I was the first to use the phrase and I am directing it at a group of people who post on this blog.    So you don't get to tell me .. who I was referring to and who I was not referring to.

As I said before, I was neither at the city council meeting nor saw it on tv nor in any other venue -- so I have made absolutely no comment about what the man was saying.    I did make a comment about what Mr. McCarthy allegedly said ...  and that is all.
