To set the record straight, I neither attended the meeting in question, saw a tape of it nor commented on the ANYTHING said at the meeting.    So I suggest that you folks stop lying and claiming I said or thought anything on the subject.
The Nattering Nayboobs of Negativity is an exclusive group made up of certain folks who post on this website.  I have never suggested that the young man you folks are talking about was among that infamous gang of cronies.    
Personally, I think that during a privilege of the floor -- the members of the council or board should refrain from making any comments ... especially comments about the person speaking.   The members of the council or board should answer questions respectfully - when questions are asked  (although all too often the questions are ignored ..  this has happened when questions have been asked of boards or councils run by both parties) ... otherwise the members of the council or board should respectfully listen and refrain from making any comments.

rpforpres  I know it took guts to share your story.  Your pride in who you are and realizing mental illness is only one small part of what makes the whole person is commendable.  I am sure it has not been an easy road.

I think along with a public apology Mr. McCarthy should be required to do community service for 200 hours.

I will also do what I can to see that somehow this issue is properly addressed. Not sure what exactly I can do but I will try. This cannot be ignored.  Not really sure the best way to change the damage already done but maybe educational classes for Mr. McCarthy would be a start.

I know there are people we don't even know about upset about this as at a "meeting" this morning it was discussed.

Keep in mind I wonder how may residents know that the cable committee on the city council consists of Stratton,Morris and... McCarthy

There is no longer "Public" in Public Access TV of which the Government channel is part of.

The meeting is on line now so it would do no good to change it. Next time I'll bet the meeting will be viewed and edited if there's anything incriminating on the tape.

Yeah, community service for NAMI, the NATIONAL Alliance for the Mentally Ill.

I'll contact Roy Neville who is the local advocate for them. Not for community service opportunities, just to expose that piece of
filth, i'm sure he would be interested. Or has someone else already done so?
