"What are your qualifications for the job?"-John Mac.

"I know the water goes in-the boats go down. The water goes in-the boats go up." stated quitting Mayor Stratton. John Mac nailed this stunad in his final story. This quote is running over and over on Talk 1300. Instead of being quiet, Stratton is answering it all on his complete lack of qualifications. No one will be quiet Yossi. The laughter is hitting Albany. Obama should snap him up for NASA.

Cuomo said he was going to clean up corruption in NYS.  It looks like he's starting at the local levels and giving the elected crooks state appointments.  Gotta say, it's probably cheaper than investigations and prosecutions, and you get the same results.  It's the canal corp, how much damage can he do there?  Good riddance.

I suggested it to Cuomo.  You wanted him out of Schenectady--seemed like it was time for him to go.  It was time to get Carmella Mantello out anyway.  She's been sitting there collecting bucks for quite awhile.  Nice lady but her time was up.  So musical chairs it is.

Stratton hardly qualifies as a crook.  In fact he's a nice guy.  Now McCarthy will be really calling the shots and you stunads will be lining up to speak to him.  Sometimes you  get what you wish for...I say this opens the door for Peter Guidarelli.  And if he wins it will be like tryng to swim up a waterfall.   Better hope Paolino runs for Mayor.

JP has done such a good job with Schenectady's finances, not. Stratton didn't have a clue on what to do as Mayor and now he doesn't have a clue about the Canal operations and being a nice guy has nothing to do with being qualified to do a job.

JP was always smarter than the rest.  You people should be begging him to be supervisor again.  Best super the town has ever seen.

Stratton should apply for NASA; "A rocket goes up-a rocket comes down". Better to have people think you are stunad than open your mouth and remove all doubts.

He's total and completely unqualified for this. Governor Cuomo has made some bad appointments and this is one of them. Hilarious the revisionist history by the DEMS. The City finances are in shambles. The recent budget does not balance and will take massive borrowing to pay day to day operations. As they did 8 years ago. Built in pay increase all around while revenues are way down and taxpayers maxed out. This is why every DEM is headed out the emergency exits. There is no one else left to blame.

He bailed out on the residents right after he signed us up for the reval that we're still living with. He had his shot and bailed out on the residents at a time when he was really needed to over-see the reval he initiated.

Dems are running nowhere Benny.  Wishful thinking on your part.  The only place they are runing to is the beauty parlor so they will look good for their close-up.  I spend two days on the canal system each summer.  Believe me when I tell you, nobody knows or gives a $hit who's running it.  At least nobody is going to be  lining up to "take back the night."

That's why DEMS Allen, Stratton and Della Salad have all either quit or said they will not run 9 months before November. The Alliance Party is one factor. Peter G is another. The Budget shambles on both the City and County level is a third. Who wants to run on a record of record taxes, pension padding, hiring incompetents, unresponsiveness, record crime, reassessment nightmare, etc, etc....There is just so long you can BS everyone.

Heard Stratton on the news indicating that his vast knowledge of the canal system is that "the water comes in, the boats go down and then the water goes out and the boat leaves".

Seems to me he's HIGHLY qualified for this position......

BTW Senders, thank you for the Metroplex quote. I was not aware that penalties can be brought to those Plex projects which are non-compliant. Seems to me that if the Plex followed up, there could have been more money back for the $50 million shelled out. Again, another loss of revenue due to incompetence.

Haha, Al Roney was playing that sound bite on his 1300am radio show.   Hmmm .... don't know what to say except ,  wow.   Mr Stratton will soon find out that he had a lot to learn about the locks.   Sheeesh.   Absolutely a classic gaff.

the reval should have been done decades ago....BEFORE GE LEFT......the problem is that those 'in the know' knew the fall was coming
they tried to shore up the house of cards only to find misery/disdain/and no straw for the bricks.....

if those in leadership couldn't see this coming then they were incompetent
if those in leadership did see this coming then they are just crooks

ONLY AN IDIOT WANTS THEIR HOUSE TO BE VALUED AT LESS......THE ISSUE IS ALWAYS THE TAX LEVY AND RATE (which is also
connected to the rating business ie: Moodys)......ALWAYS...DONT LET THEM SELL YOU A BAG OF COW PIES.....

there is a formula and those in 'the know' know how to use it.....we just sit here and drink the milk

...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......

The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.

The only trouble with the reval is that we're now paying taxes on houses that are worth 33% less than they are valued at.

I can't believe he REALLY said that.

Coumo has no idea what he's gotten himself in for.

Wouldn't it be funny if he WASNT confirmed by the legislature?
