Would that make him PatZ's boss? |

“The governor’s going to make an announcement today, that’s what [Stratton] told me,” he said.
But he noted that if it’s a high-level job, the governor might need the state Senate to confirm his choice.
That means Stratton might not get the job, McCarthy said.

Read a comment someone posted on the TU site that said that Gary McCarthy will be acting mayor and also retain his council seat. Is this legal? |

It's official Mayor Stratton to Canal Corp. Must be approved by State Senate (controlled by REPS). |

From what I've heard, he's appointed as the acting mayor until the board actually appoints the new mayor. At that point, I would assume he would have to give up his seat prior to taking the seat officially. |

Fred Dicker on Talk1300 really hit the Gazette hard about their being scooped big time.
They are usually just in denial and if they don't want something to be, they just pretend it didn't happen and don't report on it. All the editorial dementia that's fit to print. People have their number. |

They're thinking of all the $ they wasted on BS - and now they've gotta come up with new grease for the new administration, and cover their backstabbing, single sided stories up before anyone catches on. |

Some idiot on talk radio suggested Mercury Morris for Mayor-because he's done such a great job with Proctor's finances? Right-they only lost over a million last year. Thankfully, he moved to Rotterdam or the DEM morons just might. |

Heard it too. This is why Schenectady is in such bad shape, people like her who have no clue and just pays their taxes year after year and likes throwing her money into the wind. Reminds me of a Lemming. Votes by party or the name she recognizes in the voting both. She most likely has a high income that money means nothing to her. What is the definition of a Bubblehead? |

The Mayor has parachuted away and left City taxpayers with a huge fiscal mess. Already approved 4% yearly raises while dozens of Downtown properties were removed from the assessment rolls. How long before Stratton sells his home and moves back to Clifton Park? Like Morris, Landslide and Death Ray they don't want to pay the outrageous taxes they imposed. That's for other sheeple that believe the Gazetto. The other "legacy" is his fair share PILOT fiasco. No one paid what was requested most wisely chucked it into the trash. Can't wait to read the hilarious recap on Stratton's "work". Garbage double tax, pension padding, hiring incompetents, streets crumbling, no money to knock down abandoned homes, multi-million dollar City garage, Erie Boulevard fiasco. They can lie all they want but the Schenectady street is furious today. |

The Thruway owns the Canal Corp -- but the head of the Canal Corp has no control over Thruway operations or tolls. I am glad that the Mayor is going to the Canal Corp .. Ms. Mantella was a strong proponent of our BicentennielPark -- proposed for Canal Corp lands ... and ... I expect that Mr. Stratton will push hard so we can see this proposal become a reality. |
