if you think you did good just walk away. if it's truth it's weight will stay and the naysayers will be wrong.

Stratton knows how the canal system works the same way he's run the city, the money comes in and the taxes go up, same principle as the canal.

Stratton did a helluva lot better than Jurzynski and Duci running the city.    And today -- the best the GOP can come up with is to run another cat for mayor.

it's beyond parties....here's the deal....the Dems think and promote doing good for the 'poor guy' by spending others $$....that is
as long as their pile of mattresses they sleep on isn't affected....the Reps think and promote hard work hard work as long as the
'poor guy' is doing the work for them and their pile of mattresses they sleep on isn't affected.....

to defend ANY major political party and their elect, just because of name dropping or 'belonging to the club' leaves a person without
themselves....

I don't vote party -- I vote for the person who will do the job right.     Mayor Stratton inherited a mess .. anddid his best to fix it.      Ms. Savage and the Dems on the County Leg inherited a mess ... and have done their best to fix it.      Have they been perfect -- no  .....  but the city and the county are heading in the rightdirection.      There is a lot of work to be done  ... but at least we have begun turning things around.

Now I know that a certain "monkey" will attack me and say that I think everything is perfect.   I have never said that and just so the "monkey" knows -- I will not respond to his-her threate, accusations and hysterical comments.

Quite honestly,   between the "monkey" and the "candy man" -- they can kiss my a**.   I will continue to work hard to fix the things that I can --- and support the best possible candidates within the county  and region.      If they don't like it -- tough crap.     I am not going away anytime soon.

.....  but the city and the county are heading in the rightdirection.

Huh?   By making the financially struggling homeowners pay for the taxes on the millionaires???????;   HUH?????????   And DON'T give us any crap about that metroplex report about these pilots.   For example, taxpayers who don't have money to fix up their own houses, were forced to pay to fix up Bombers.  Then Bombers supposedly pays this pittance of a so called "pilot"   BUT, Bombers gets a 150% tax exemption!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do explain HOW this is going in the right direction?????

People are fleeing the city in droves.   Have you even come into the city in the past year??????    Do you see the for sale signs on all the houses???????

MY GOD, DV, open your friggin eyes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!    Look at that former supt, that Eric Ely.  He put his house up for sale, I think in about March or April of last year.  Tell us, DV, come on, TELL US HOW LONG IT TOOK TO SELL !!!!!!!!!!   ??????????????     DV OPEN YOUR EYES AND SEE THE REALITY, THE TRUTH under STratton and the rest of them.  That house HAS NOT SOLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!    A nice house in probably one of the nicest areas of the city neighoring Nisky.  And STILL NO ONE wants to buy it!

How about that georgeous house in the GE plot??????    How long did that take to sell on the open market??????????    IF NEVER DID.  It took going to auction to buy at a real cheap price.

So, DV, show us the list of houses in the city that sold within a normal reasonable time.

And tell us DV, how come YOU are not buying a house in the city??????????    Why do you repeatedly REFUSE to answer that question:???????????     Anyone with a brain would know that you buy a house when the prices are low so you can gain from it over time.  So, if you were thinking about buying in the city, why would wait until the city would improve where house prices were very high?  Obviously you don't want to even buy in the city because of the high taxes, high crime, decrepit neighborhoods, and a mayor and council who don't give two sh*ts about the city!

Uh, tell us what has happened to the taxes under STratton??????
What has happened to the crime rate under Stratton???????
What has happened to the property values under Stratton????????
What has happened to the numbers of abandoned houses in the city under STratton?????
What has happened to the numbers of vacant houses under Stratton?????
Of the people working in all these taxpayer funded businesses downtown, how many of them have bought houses in the city?????

Jurzynski at least brought some high paid jobs here, i.e., those high paid state employees.   And MVP, well, they were here but they got a new building and expanded, but by no means are the nurses and claims people, etc making minimum wage.

Most of these gin mills and the theater and the hotel and the hairdo place, etc came under Stratton.  What do those dishwasher jobs pay??????   Huh DV?????????    About about the maids in the Hampton????????   How much to the ticket takers at the Bow Tie pay???????    I trust you know that hair stylists do NOT have to be paid minimum wage!

And DV, can you tell us when, under Stratton, there was a drug raid remotely near the level that Jurzynski got---that Operation Crackdown which SUBSTANTIALLY reduced the crime rate for quite  a while.  So, DV, tell. us when there was such a big raid under Stratton.

And when did Stratton declare a snow emergency?????????

oh the city is going in the right direction

pushing out the street folks/drug dealers etc to the outskirts into the neighboring towns.....those that live in Princetown and the likes hope those folks
dont get that close to their homes(cant say as I blame them), but at the same time are diverting tax $$ to their own little playground with no
high paying jobs to offer....they were bored and felt like fluffing their pillows....why doesn't PM live in a penthouse downtown???? Just curious....

If we want to go into past party politics, Karen Johnson's reign as Mayor came with the downfall of the City as GE moved out and hundreds of people lost their jobs. It was then the City began losing businesses and homeowners. So stop going backwards.

The current leaders are leaving a horrible legacy for decades to come. Why Metroplex would give interest free loans and tax exempt businesses for years is leading to higher taxes for the middle class homeowners. What's the fine if a PILOT payment isn't made? If there is one the Plex won't enforce it anyway - they haven't done any fines so far.

Stratton has helped put Schenectady back on the map as a City of high crime, high tax in a highly corrupt political atmosphere.

SCHENECTADY
Mayor’s office will be part time
McCarthy in role, future unclear

BY KATHLEEN MOORE Gazette Reporter

City Council President Gary Mc-Carthy will take over the mayor’s duties next month, but he will work only part time, he said Thursday.
Those who know the demands of the job expressed reservations as to whether it could be done part time, particularly once budget season begins.
But since McCarthy cannot legally be paid to be mayor, his only options are to live without a paycheck for 10 months, or find a way to do the work part time while keeping his job in the Schenectady County District Attorney’s Offi ce.
He had to make a decision quickly, because fellow Democrat Brian U. Stratton plans to leave offi ce as mayor in mid-March. Stratton will become the director of the Canal Corp., a state job offered to him by Gov. Andrew Cuomo. ...............................>>>>..................>>>>.....................http://www.dailygazette.net/De.....r00100&AppName=1

Another example of DEMS putting party first and screwing the oppressed taxpayer. After 8 years of pathetic part timer Stratton, who raised his pay to $96,000 with JEEP, the City needs a full time Mayor to undue his fiscal incompetence.

Anyone else would have resigned from the other job for this opportunity, This is all about political expediency. Let Sharon Jordan be the caretaker Mayor. That would have made more sense. Schenectady needs a full time Mayor. Not someone more interested in two public paychecks.

Here's a suggestion...let's NOT have a part-time Mayor. If McCarthy can't legally be in this position, there ARE many other able bodied people in Schenectady that can do this for 10 months.

Again, the City Council needs to harvest a spinal column and tell McCarthy that he can't have his cake and eat it too.

City needs "full time" mayor due to issues in the city.  The seriousness of the role a mayor plays in this city is not to be dismissed but the wimps on the city council could care less.  Kick them all out

Great way to cause issue of the breaking the law concerning divulging mental health issues to be overshadowed at priv of floor on Monday.

The fact he has access to much info working at the DA's office who is to say that if he doesn't like a person's position he won't investigate them and intimidate them to back off is another reason.  Proven already!
