I love it.  You have to argue about a persons memory about a snow storm over 30 years ago.  Then you expect the histroical data to be completely accurate.

Ronny has a history of misreporting the truth.

Just as a for instance: Meeting with Stratton in Schenectady when White House records show he was at a breakfast there.

Everything he says to me is "questionable" - and unlike his commission who doesn't approve meeting minutes at the next open meeting, open weather records are easy to find and are maintained by the National Weather Service - open to all, within minutes.

If he offered any proof to back up his claims, on ANY story, it'd be different - this is just one more example that was easy to prove before I go to bed.

I do not read this board much anymore because of this kind of thing.  I am not saying you in particular do this all the time MT.  Actually my memories of our past interactions were very civil.  Just seems the selective few, very bitter / hateful people here have a tendency to overshadow what could be a very productive message board.

The data actually shows that it snowed 11.8 inches on Christmas Day in 1978  and 7.4 on Christmas Eve 1974 -- it could have been either one of those years but i believe it was 1978.   That was during the period when my Mother, my siblings and I lived on Lansing Street ...  my aunts, who are still alive, remember the storm but can't say for sure what year it was ... and the picture that I have of the family and friends all gathered in my Mom's living room doesn't have a date on it -- but there are clues that lead me to believe it was 1978.

The fact is that MT will disagree with me -- if I say the sun rises in the morning in the east ..he would argue that .. no .. it rises in the west at night.

Just realized that storm hit on Christmas day, so it must of been the storm in 1978.

A total of 21 inches of snow fell in the New York capital, 19.2 inches of it on Christmas, which was a new record for that day, surpassing 11.8 inches in 1978. It was also the fourth-greatest amount for a December snowstorm and the ninth-greatest overall.

It was the first sign of global warming....because in earth's great big history it never happened until humans 'showed up' to screw it up.....
apparently going to church doesn't reverse the effect either....

It couldn't have been in 1969 - because we were not living on Lansing Street then.  

It is tough when a person reaches a "certain age" and has crystal clear memories of about 90% of something --- except for the actual year.   LOL ... I guess I am getting old.  

All I can say for certain is that it was between 1975 and 1978  ... because it was while we were living on Lansing Street  and after my grandmother died  -- since she was not in the picture.

And you see, this is why we will never, ever win a war again. With touchy-feely military leaders like this, trying to sing Kumbaya all day we might as well surrender now in advance. I want military officers to be nasty, cut throat, killer, means sonsofbitches. Meaner than rattlesnakes, more hateful and cunning than a lion. I want them to be more bitter than a jackal. Always ready to ignite, argue, swear, fight and kill. Not oversensitive gals looking for a love fest. This is how they are trained. Sad.

You probably never heard of the Merriam-Webster Dictionary or the Old Farmer's Almanac or even the National Weather Service --- those are ALL reliable sources.  

Dvr. In one post you said you entered midnight mass w/ not a speck of snow one the ground . A few post's later we had a major snowstorm starting at 11pm on Christmas eve . Can you keep your story straight. At least read what you previously posted so as not to look as unbelievable .

I thought I was hearing things til my daughter came running into the room and told me about it.  We went to the window and sure enough.  Then a friend of mine posted it on facebook so I know we werent the only ones.
