Route 5 and Route 7 corridors of  Schenectady  county  is  a  matter  of  essential  state  and  county  concern,  and  that the establishment and  creation of a Schenectady metroplex development authority  is  necessary  to  provide  for  the  economic  prosperity,  health, safety and general  welfare of the people of the county of Schenectady and the state of  New  York,  through  the construction, development, location and operation of  these new facilities.

Is Curry Road(Recovery Room) considered Route 5 or Route 7?  My guess is neither.  I think it's Route Mallozzi.

- they could shut down the Suez Canal and the gas would be $10 a gallon -- IF you could find it.

That is right in line with Obama's cap and tax proposal.  Obama wants unaffordable energy prices for Americans, ESPECIALLY OIL PRICES.

Well, Curry Road is officially Route 7, but I thought when they were mentioning this, they meant the part near the Thruway exits.  This is actually the only thing that has been done on Route 7 so far, except if you count the things that happened behind Rotterdam's Iron Curtain (in the Corporate (Industrial) Park)

rpforpres, thanks for posting the Metroplex Audit. Oh, how easy it is to spend the taxpayer money with no regards on the impact to the homeowners of the City......for example;

Aperitivo received .......           Bow Tie Cinema, Metroplex money ..........    Perreca's, Metroplex money .......    Van Dyke, Metroplex money .....     (R...you failed to mention that taxpayers TWICE bailed out this business when it didn't pay it's mortgage)         Villa Italia, Metroplex money ..........    .

Don't forget the Bombers home of brawls and shootings requiring ever city cop on duty), the hair do salon school, Proctors, "Key Hall," the rewaard to the Foster building tax delinquents, etc etc etc

Hey DV, tell us WHEN the financially struggling homeowners will get a low interest loan from the government AND be exempt from property taxes???????   Huh DV?????????????

Death Ray and Landslide Savage can stick their beeks wherever they want. They are also involved in the flop St James Plaza which is nowhere near Rt 5. The all DEM moron Niskayuna Town Bored approved this overreach. This is no surprise because Landslide has put one DEM stooge after another on that bored. A neighbor, 2 County employees, an old friend.

No one says nuthin-token opposition. Since Death Ray got involved in leasing more businesses have fled. Metrograft is a total taxpayer ripoff responsible for job flight and consumers avoiding this County.

The Plex has only helped businesses with connected friends. Malozzi, MacDonald, Marcella, Morris....the County needs to stop giving people with a last name beginning with 'M' millions. Maybe try the letters in front of and in back of "m" (that would be a "N O").

Tax incentives for economic development is something that EVERY state does in one way or the other.
One could argue that New York does not do enough of it.  We have lost a number of businesses to other states because those other states offered  MORE  tax incentives than we are allowed to offer.

So the problem is NOT that Metroplex offers tax exemptions -- the problem is that they are not legally allowedby the state to provide even more incentives for economic development.

Utter rubbish. The answer to failed socialism is never more failed socialism. Companies have fled for other Counties. What this County needs is private sector solutions; slash spending, end government programs, abolish Metrograft and slash property and sales taxes. Run this County like a business not a nonprofit.

Thank God there is some kind of State limit because these DEM crony capitalists refuse to regulate themselves. A perfect example is Mercury Morris who's answer to Proctor's being over $1 MILLION in the red is to takeover more private business and yank even more property off the tax rolls.

DV. these businesses have plenty of their OWN money.  These are MILLIONAIRS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   WHY, does Golub NEED money to move from Route 7 to downtown??????   Huh?????   HOW is THAT "economic development" when you take a business ALREADY EXISTING within a county and rob the taxpayers to give the multimillion business money to MOVE to another street address WITHIN THE SAME COUNTY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  DUH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   These are business that have so much wealth that their offspring have NOTHING to worry about for at least five generations!!!!!!!!!   But YOU want the financially struggling EXISTING people to live without necesities and give it to the millionnaires....WHY???????

And HOW is it "economic development" to tax homeowners so high that they lose their homes?????????????????????   Huh???????????    Huh?????????

And HOW is it "economic development" to raise the taxes so high on homeowners that homeowners put their homes up for sale in hopes of fleeing the city????

And HOW is it "economic development" to raise the taxes so high on homeowners that NO ONE......ABSOLUTELY NO ONE....is willing to buy a house in the city???????   Huh??????

And to PROVE that NO ONE will buy a house in the city....YOU YOURSELF!!!!!!!!!!!    YOU DV, YOU aren't doing ANYTHING to move into the city!!!!!!!!   YOU YOURSELF REFUSE to even buy a rental property in the city!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And HOW is it "economic development" when the result is fewer VITAL services in the city and SUBSTANTIALLY HIGHER crime???????????????   Huh????????   Huh?????

If it's so gould DV, tell us WHY................EXPLAIN WHY IN THE HELL YOU REFUSE TO BUY A HOUSE IN THE CITY that you claim is a miracle city, it's in thie great renaissance.   DV, OPEN YOUR DAMN EYES!!!!!!!!!!!!   Houses are DIRT CHEAP and NO ONE wants to buy a house in the city......not even with the Osama tax handouts of last year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WRONG! You're reading the Gazetto as if it were the Bible. Fact is, businesses move to other States because the workers comp rates, health insurance mandates and sales tax in NY are double that of other states. Even with Metroplex, the fact is that running a business in NY is very costly, unless you can get money from a corrupt unit like the Plex.

The Metroplex has not helped the tax base, it's absolutely decimated it. It has turned an entire Downtown into a tax-exempt, taxpayer funded free-for-all. It has helped a handful of people create low-paying, part time server/waitressing jobs. This is not economic development, it is taxpayer robbery.

That is not from the Gazette --- that is from a variety of sources --- all experts on economic development.  In fact one of the experts who said what I only repeated was on AM 1300.

Obviously, you and your ilk no absolutely NOTHING about economic development.   You are grossly misinformed.       I get my news and information from a wide range of sources on the internet and radio and in other publications.    I also took classes in Economics and, in particular, in Urban Economics.   It is a subject thatI have tried to keep abreast of for the past 31 years  (actually a bit more).

The problem with Nattering Nayboobs of Negativity is that they know very little -- get their information (if any) from  Reich-Wing nut jobs and refuse to accept  ACTUAL FACTS when presented to them.
