SCHENECTADY — A city man faces a felony charge for allegedly breaking into an Altamont Avenue residence, authorities said. Jason Meyers, 28, of 1056 Strong St., was charged Wednesday with one count each of second-degree burglary and fi fth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, felonies. Meyers is accused of breaking into the residence Wednesday morning and taking an estimated $2,500 in electronics. He was arrested later that day in possession of some of the stolen goods, according to papers filed in court.

Wounded man walks into hospital SCHENECTADY — A man walked into Ellis Hospital's McClellan campus on Saturday night with a gunshot wound to the back. Police said the man informed them the shooting occurred on Craig Street earlier in the night. Police said the wound was not considered life-threatening, but had no additional information available.
City men facing burglary charges SCHENECTADY — Two city men face burglary-related counts in unrelated incidents, authorities said. Billy L. Canton, 21, of 779 State St., was charged Wednesday with one count of second-degree burglary, along with fourth-degree criminal mischief and possession of burglar tools. He is accused of breaking into a Union Street home Wednesday evening, according to court papers Joseph Sanders, 55, of 713 Windsor Terrace, was charged Thursday with one count of second-degree attempted burglary, along with fourth-degree criminal mischief. He is accused of trying to break into a Steinmetz Homes residence by damaging a door.
Weapon, break-in, drug indictments SCHENECTADY — Three people were indicted Friday on unrelated counts, Schenectady County District Attorney’s offi cials said. Lewi Ben-Israel, 34, of 1188 Parkwood Blvd., was indicted on two counts each of second- and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon. He is accused of illegally possessing a loaded firearm Oct. 18 on Albany Street. Daryl Hewitt, 25, of Carrie Street, was indicted on one count each of second-degree burglary, fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property and petty larceny. He is accused of breaking into an Ardsley Road residence Oct. 15. Dihnon Boyd, 17, of 4 Kelton Ave., was indicted on three counts each of third-degree criminal possession and sale of a controlled substance. Boyd is accused of possessing and selling cocaine in September and October in Schenectady.
Man charged with smuggling tobacco into jail SCHENECTADY — A rolled-up copy of The Daily Gazette was used by a man trying to smuggle tobacco into the Schenectady County Jail, sheriff’s offi cials said. Robert E. Kaiser, 69, of Schenectady, allegedly dropped off the newspaper and concealed contraband for inmate Bernard Rourke just before 1 p.m. Monday, offi cials said. Corrections Offi cer Robert Kent discovered the tobacco and Kaiser was charged. In a statement, Sheriff Dominic Dagostino praised his offi cers, saying it was an example of them being diligent in their duties. Kaiser faces one count of second-degree promoting prison contraband. He was processed and released to return to court later.
Police: Man stole expensive bicycles SCHENECTADY — A city man stands accused of breaking into a State Street bike shop and stealing high-end bicycles, authorities said. Gary Dymond, 18, of 48 Wilson Ave., was arrested Friday on one count each of third-degree burglary, fourth-degree grand larceny and third-degree criminal mischief. Dymond is accused of breaking into Plaine and Son on Oct. 14 and taking three bikes valued together at nearly $4,000, according to papers filed in court.
Man accused of having a lot of coke SCHENECTADY — A city resident faces a high-level drug charge, accused of possessing more than a half-pound of cocaine, authorities said. Emery Moore, 42, of 1055 Howard St., was charged Thursday with one count each of first- and thirddegree criminal possession of a controlled substance, felonies. Moore is accused of possessing the cocaine around 10:30 p.m. Thursday on Willett Street, according to papers filed in court.
Cops: Man punched victim in the face SCHENECTADY — A city man faces a felony charge for allegedly punching another man in August, authorities said. Rohit B. Craig, 52, of 709 Windsor Terrace, was charged Friday with one count of second-degree assault, a felony. Craig is accused of punching a man in the face Aug. 20 on State Street, after saying to the victim, “So you think you’re bad,” according to papers filed in court. The victim has since required treatment for a corneal abrasion and pressure behind his eye, according to papers.
Cops: Woman hit woman in the head SCHENECTADY — A city woman faces robbery and assault charges, accused of robbing and punching another woman in August, authorities said. Toshena Haynes, 31, of 26 Eagle St., was charged Friday with one count each of third-degree robbery and third-degree assault. Haynes is accused of punching a woman in the head repeatedly Aug. 30 outside the Duane Lounge and taking a necklace valued at $400, according to papers filed in court.

Man faces felony in stabbing incident SCHENECTADY — A city man is facing a felony assault charge for allegedly stabbing another person in the arm. Michael J. Pendt, 24, of 823 Bridge St. and three other suspects allegedly assaulted the victim just after 11 p.m. Nov. 10 on Bridge Street. The stab wound required several stitches to close, according to papers filed in court. No motive was listed for the attack. Pendt was charged with seconddegree assault.
2 teens charged with robbing boy SCHENECTADY — Two teenagers were arrested Tuesday for allegedly robbing a boy on the street. The robbery happened around 4:15 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of Craig Street and Lincoln Avenue. Gregory D. Moore, 16, of 819 Cutler St. punched a 14-yearold victim on the back of the head, causing him to try to fl ee. It was at that point that a second suspect, 17-year-old Tevin T. Hines of 1554 Rugby Road, punched the victim on the back of the head, causing him to fall to the pavement, according to papers filed in court. While the boy was on the ground, Hines took the victim’s Samsung smart phone out of his pocket. When the victim tried to get up and chase Hines to get his phone back, Moore allegedly slammed him to the pavement once again. Both teens were charged with second-degree robbery.
Police: Man broke items during fi ght SCHENECTADY — Police arrested a man Sunday for allegedly causing more than $2,000 worth of damage in a fight with his mother. Haresh Ramgadoo, 19, of 273 Altamont Ave. allegedly damaged a wooden table and four chairs, a water cooler, cooler, portable telephone, wall mirror and door frame, according to papers filed in court. He was charged with felony criminal mischief and an additional misdemeanor for allegedly smashing the phone when his mother tried to call police for help.
