been checking craigslist nothing yet. Who knows when I go to Stewarts someone outside might try to sell me one of our items, some people try to sell CD's, movies, one guy at the brandywine stewarts had a bag of meat from price chopper, he took it out and it wasn't pretty to look at, musta been out there awhile.
Perhaps DV can give you good ideas. He supposedly know so much about the "renaissance" in Schenectady
Optimists close their eyes and pretend problems are non existent. Better to have open eyes, see the truths, acknowledge the negatives, and speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies.
It would be nice to find the missing items at a store, most places take a copy of the persons ID when buying goods.
"In the beginning of a change, the Patriot is a scarce man, brave, hated and scorned. When his cause succeeds, however, the timid join him, for then it costs nothing to be a Patriot."
Not to fear Gemini.........the 2 blocks of state street look great!
OH....and make sure you shovel your sidewalk! PATHETIC!
Funny you should mention the sidewalk thing. I drove past the old place today and it looks as if no one did the side walk out front or the steps. This included the house next door too. When we lived there, we did both steps and both walks.
I always thought that this was done because the mailman HAS to get through. Also I saw a lot of fire hydrants that were not cleared. You can see the little metal pole sticking up out of the snow though. You know where they are but you cant see them.
when I was a kid, the homeowners/renters were ALWAYS responsible for the sidewalks and stairs. It's just what people did. Today there are videogames and they dont seem to be doing a good job at it. Maybe someone could design The Sims to do it?....just plain L.A.Z.Y
...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......
The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.
STOP BEING GOOD DEMOCRATS---STOP BEING GOOD REPUBLICANS--START BEING GOOD AMERICANS
I agree. No one wants to go out and do the work. Where we were living, the downstairs tenants did nothing. Not even helping to mow the lawn. My husband made a deal with the next door neighbors. If we could blow out the driveway onto their side lawn (because the driveway was in between the house and the fence), we would blow out their driveway in return. We also helped out the elderly couple across the street.
We always kept the sidewalks clean. We kept our driveway cleaned. It was just out of respect for ourselves too. I most certainly didnt want to walk in the street or slip on the steps. We would also clear the drain on the corner. Flooding and freezing was dangerous. I dont know, maybe its just that we were raised that way.
