Understand PLEX is just about maxed out. $5 mill. or so of 50 mill. left. May be asking for 25 mill. more. More than likely reason-to keep "it going",in too deep now to reverse course and let what's been done to regress in decay. Sherman,er, PLEX continues it's march to Atlanta,er Western Gateway Bridge. If overage on County Home materializes, will PLEX pick up the tab? Just asking. Please correct any inaccuracies. Are welcome.
Yes the plex is just about maxed out. Now is when the rubber hits the road. When they go and ask to raise the bond level, we will see who approves it and who doesn't. The plex has failed! Plain and simple! |

Metrograft is maxed out and will soon come before the horrid County Legislature for yet another increase in it's debt ceiling. They cannot use money to fund a County Home that has already received separate bonding. A County Home is hardly Downtown "revitalization" but neither is another governmental gin mill. More sheeple need to speak out against building a new County Home. As of today they want to put it on Curry Rd-permanently removing a huge commercial parcel from the town tax rolls. This would be a huge annual expense to repay the bonds. Raising County taxes for at least 30 years. Fulton and Montgomery Counties have both privatized their homes. But they have a two party system, checks/balances and would never put Landslide Savage in leadership. |

What's distressing about this situation with the plex. is, fear the arguement of it's all we got, regardless of it's success or failure so far, will prevail. |

If they say Metroplex is all we have it's time to dissolve the plex and vote every politician who supports it out of office. Wasting 10 plus million dollars with no results is not progress or success and their methods have hurt the taxpayer badly. |

When the leg. vote commences on more funds for the plex will be interesting to see where Bob Farley votes. Was'nt he one of the plex architects? Must be difficult for him to watch all this. |

The fact is that the Leg and Gillen have absolutely no idea how to bring economically profitable and sustainable businesses to the area.
Fifty million could have swayed a Luther Forest to the County. But the Plex gave money hand over fist to their friends and opened restaurant upon restaurant in a City no one still wants to come to. A few connected Metroplex friends have all this money, are not paying property or school taxes and will be living off the poor City taxpayers for at least the next decade.
Absolutely a colossal loss of the county taxpayers millions...... |

I personally dont go through downtown unless Im heading to Scotia. No place to park. Im not walking 5 blocks to get to somewhere in this cold. There is nothing downtown that interests me. I dont even bother with the DMV there. I go elsewhere for that service. I specifically chose my bank so I dont have to be downtown. I dont go to bars. If I order out, I make sure its somewhere near my home or have it delivered. There really is nothing down there. |

I agree. I use to have doctors/dentists around the union street area. I have since changed to doctors/dentists out of the city. Same with an attorney. |

Great post. A loss of $100 MILLION flushed away on "arts", governmental gin mills-that never open, a County tourism centre-that never opens and more governmental gin mills. Coming soon to your town! As far as BF he is in the bag for all of this. He will tell you that Death Ray is doing a job. Plenty of blame to go around. With the money flushed we could have 10 new industrial sites employing thousands. Instead we have Death Ray and Mercury Morris at the trough and front row for the Presidential visit. Just a couple of regular joes that make over $250,000 raping the taxpayer. |

Ditto! There used to be a Doctor's Row on middle Union which moved to Upper Union St and now Niskayuna. Attorneys were the last to flee but even they have packed up. No one wants the taxes, the parking mess, the governmental morons that infest the City. Even the slumlords are fleeing. Everything is awry and every pol has a hand out. It's bad for business. |

I don't believe that the city can legally tax churches and church property, I will have to speak to our diocesan officials and have them look into the legal aspects. |
