Conservative, like Liberals are not ONE THING.
Obama promised to get combat troops out of the lost cause of Iraq.  He has done that.  (HUH... 7 years later and still no WMD'S)

There are lots of liberals who think that Obama isn't liberal enough.  Many Americans are NOT happy with Health Care Reform... I am one of them.  I think Obama should have held out for a single payer option.

I gave Obama a free ride for the first two years on the war in Afghanistan.  Along with the OTHER Bush war, Obama had to fix what Bush wasn't man enough to handle.  Looking at the track record of Afghanistan... Has anyone WON there?  Not the British when they were at their high point, not the Russians when they still had a SuperPower army... and now not the USA.

AlQaeda was always the target... not Afghanistan.  Time to focus on the real enemy.  Most Afghans have never heard of the Sept 11th attacks.   They are fighting to repel invaders... Us.

He pulled most of them out but there still remains over 50,000 US troops in Iraq, we lost 6 already in Iraq in 2011. I do agree with you about Afghanistan, I believe we had the right to go in and get AlQaeda but other than that I knew it would be hopeless. My problem is where is all the protests, where has all the outrage gone over the wars from the left, it's non existent today because it was all political bullshit.

You won't find it on Fox!

If you really want to find War Protest against Obama, then OPEN YOUR EYES!!!
Here's just a sample:
2009

On March 20, 2009, in the first large demonstration in Washington, D.C. since Obama took office, thousands of Americans, some bearing mock coffins to protest war casualties, took the streets on the sixth anniversary of the 2003 Iraq invasion to protest the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

More than 10,000 people marched on the Pentagon. Led by a contingent of Afghanistan and Iraq war veterans, the protesters proceeded on to the headquarters of major military-industrial corporations such as Boeing, Lockheed Martin, General Dynamics, and KBR, corporations that the demonstrators characterized as "merchants of death" and to which they sought to deliver symbolic coffins.

In Los Angeles, thousands marched down Hollywood Boulevard to call for all U.S. troops to be brought home. A 4,000-strong crowd took part in the "Stop the Wars" march and rally.

Another 4,000 people demonstrated in San Francisco.
Rallies against the wars similarly took place in New York City, San Diego, Saint Paul, Minneapolis, and other American cities.
This article goes on for many more.

On October 7, 2009, Students for a Democratic Society called a national day of action against the war in Afghanistan. Over 25 chapters of SDS planned and held various actions around the country.
A "Funk the War" march led by Rochester SDS was forcibly ended by the police, with 12 of the 60 marchers arrested and later released or bailed out.

On the weekend of October 17–18, 2009, anti-war protests took place in 50 cities across the United States.
In Boston, hundreds of protesters gathered at Copley Square to protest the war in Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Iraq. Zoya, a 28-year-old Afghan woman spoke against the U.S.-led war in her country, saying her homeland does not need more foreign occupation. Suzette Abbot, carrying a sign that read "Yes We Can Get Out of Afghanistan", said "Obama needs to make good on his promises. We all worked to get him elected. Now he needs to earn that peace prize."
In Minneapolis, 400 people marched, calling for an end to the U.S. war in Afghanistan and an end to the continued U.S. occupation of Iraq

2010
On Saturday March 20, 2010, an estimated 10,000 demonstrators marched through downtown Washington D.C. to protest the U.S.-led invasions and wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. The crowd, stretching about four blocks long, started at Lafayette Square, stopping in front of Halliburton's offices and the Mortgage Bankers Association's building, and ended at the White House.

On Saturday November 20, 2010, protesters led by military families held a 10,000-strong demonstration march through London against the war in Afghanistan.

ETC ETC ETC

Henry.  Why didn't you hear about these protests when the rest of America did??? Are you a Fox Noise viewer???

there will ALWAYS be wars.....wars for food/wars for water/wars for territory/wars for oil/wars for money....whatever....it's a VOLUNTEER ARMY....I chose
NOT to join........

the protests are ONLY for those dead who CHOSE to go....anyone who chooses to go I salute...I will not protest something you felt was your right to
CHOOSE....draft is wrong...a country is only as strong as it's strive to thrive.....

you dont have to be conservative or right wing to believe in war....because when push came to shove you and I would war over the last apple and drink
of water on earth....we walk on a million, if not billion year old rotating rock.....that is how small and short lived we are...but at least we get to choose

Um Senders... we went to war in Iraq for lower oil prices... and failed.  The only objective that we were successful on was eliminating Saddam.... That's it!  1$Trillion dollars and the lives of  4400+ American patriots to eliminate one crackpot, weak, dictator.

Every American has a responsibility to value the lives and well being of each and every one of our troops.  War is a last resort.   Their lives are NOT expendable, or pawns to be traded for some trade concession or business deal.

There are times that I feel many in the American public don't deserve the valor and honor of the American military.

Wars are political boxy....ALL wars!!! Dem, rep...don't matter! It is a global event with global motivations. Even you must agree with that. Do you think WWII was a just war? Do you think the Korean war was a just war? Sure, they didn't last as long as Iraq or Afghanistan, but political just the same. Just ask the folks who fought in those wars!!

Today's wars are fought differently....they are high tech. Sure there are still bombs and bullets, but it's an entirely different ball game. They are ALL political. The American government is not the only hand steering the war ship....it goes well beyond our boarders.

Nobody wants a war....but wars always were and wars always will be. However, I have to agree with GB.....this country has lost it's backbone and because of it....our men and women in uniform will pay the price.

IT'S GLOBALLY POLITICAL!!!

I thought we went to war in Iraq for Halliburton to rebuild infrastructure and profit? Or, I thought we went to war to settle the score with Saddam for the attempted assassination attempt on GWB's father?  Now we went to war for oil and cheaper gas?

We can topple a country in a few months while fighting a war in Afghanistan, and launch a space shuttle into space to build a space station, land a remote control land rover on Mars...But we couldn't stick a pipe into the ground and pump oil in the middle of that sand box for lower gas prices.

Got it!

A drop in the bucket box a rox compared to what we seen in the prior administration. It used to be non-stop coverage of the wars on the MSM but now what do we see 1-2 stories a day. The majority sold out because they got their man in office and that is just the truth, as said above its all political.

Um Box....that's what I said....and if you think strapping a country down through their ability to transport goods/themselves for trade, via
higher cost isn't war,,,then you are stuck in a box.....sanctions, trade agreements/non-agreements etc....the bullets/bombs etc used
in military ARE NOT FOR PERSONAL PROTECTION....it's a bigger picture.....I dont pretend to think that just one day we woke up
and decided to get oil/money etc.....it's a giant machine and people are cogs in it.....the military and it's personel are one cog...you
and I make up some cogs...everytime we go grocery shopping/fill up the gas tank/flip a switch/go to work etc.....

what bothers me,,,is there are bunch of folks sitting around waiting to see what the Kardashians are doing...WHO THE 'F' CARES!!!!!

The war in Iraq was an attempt to open a Muslim society in the Middle East in hopes it would spread - secular democratic, free market societies where people are free to trade and worship as they wish, tend to have less fanaticism and are relatively peaceful.  The war was less about oil and more about creating stability in the region so capitalist can move into that market and peddle their goods without threats of violence.

Cicero,
By your definition the war in Iraq was a complete failure.

All wars in short sight are a 'failure'....when we are dead and gone and the story is on the History Channel, it will be understood to have
changed future history.....

Parents of Loughner and other mentally ill need help, not condemnation

Columnists have weighed in against the parents of Jared Loughner in the Tucson shootings, arguing they should have known he was armed and dangerous and could have stopped him. It isn't that simple. It doesn't seem possible to round up all the suspects who act unhinged at any one moment in our society. Parents don't call the police and ask them to arrest their son who's acting strangely — only if he becomes violent and destructive.
It's not sensible to hold parents responsible for the independent acts of a family member, or hold professionals to a legal standard for something that hasn't happened but just might happen in the right circumstances. And we really don't know what those are — what might trigger the need for revenge or catharsis that set off Jared Loughner in Arizona.
Even when a family member says he's going to hurt someone else, he may be just angry and lack the means to carry out his threat. It's a judgment call. But we as parents can be more skilled in how we handle these charges. For example, if there are things written down and on the record, we can hold our family member to behaviors that are more responsible and respectful. It's not wrong to alert authorities if your son is abusing a younger child in the family or engaging in sexual innuendo on the Internet, or hanging with the wrong kind of friends who do crimes. There's a chance the gang is exploiting your son who is mentally ill. As parents, we should recognize dangers in their lives, too. We do have a responsibility to report when our children are so menacing that we would want another family to do the same about their child.
Parents can become more skilled in how they deal with a son or daughter who throws a tantrum, goes into a rage, becomes loud and threatening. Many of us have had to endure this without any special preparation. We can learn in our support groups how to handle these behaviors better than if we try to go it alone.
Often there are ways to negotiate and there is language to soothe the situation, not inflame it. We learn these elements at the weekly group inside Ellis Medicine psychiatry run by Kevin Moran. And now at another group at the Capital District Psychiatric Center (CDPC) Franklin
Street clinic led by Frank Greco. Both will
help families handle the dynamics of living
closely and safely with another.

Capitalism existed in Iraq under Saddam and until the sanctions, was quite successful.  Iraq was a progressive Middle east state, with womens rights, and (unless you crossed Saddam) a good place to live for the middle east.
What we (supposedly) went to war for was "to establish a beacon of democracy in the middle east"...
A total failure, as was the search for the non existent WMD'S
