The dems have been in control of the city......for how long now? And as they continue to fail miserably, they have no other out except to blame the opposing party from......how long ago now?

Ok.....I'll give it to the dems that the city was in a mess when they took control.....almost a decade ago. But they have just shinned 'sh!t'. And while they promised lower taxes, the fact of the matter is that they have irresponsibly raised them to a historic level! Crime and violent crimes are at an all time high. People are walking away from their homes and leaving them vacant due to unaffordable high taxes. Non-profits rule the day. Multi-million dollar businesses relocated at taxpayer's expense. Multi-million dollar businesses are tax exempt.
And this, my cyber friends, can be laid at the feet of the liberal socialists!!

The pathetic DEMS have been in control of the City Council for 36 straight years. What was Schenectady like 36 years ago? Much less crime, more jobs, stores Downtown, thriving business districts in the neighborhoods and a reasonable tax rate. It is up to the City Council {like Congress} to approve the budget and make changes or cuts if necessary. The DEMS talk a good game but have proved incapable of budgeting and only "understand the importance of high taxes". The City has imploded so completely that it might be too late to save. A necessary reset is throwing out all 4 DEMS incumbents on City Council along with the horrible Mayor who no one thinks can run again.

And if cuomo gives stratton, who mayors (sometimes) a high tax high crime city, an appointed position....then we all know where cuomo stands!! Then cuomo is clearly just as bad!

Someone has to run who is not connected with the current administration. The corruption in the police department was never resolved - just swept under the carpet. The City workers not living in the City, using City vehicles to commute to their homes elsewhere - that has to stop. Claiming Proctors is a nonprofit yet has for-profit businesses paying them rent (kinda' like the City Mission getting a Starbucks) has to stop. Making welfare the prime reason for over 1/2 the City population to stay - that has to end.
Metroplex has failed the City by tax exempting businesses which contribute not even a handful of jobs to the residents. Unemployment is rampant, yet the Plex has spent millions of dollars taking Keybank, Marcellas and Proctors off the tax rolls. Our money is being spent to pad the pockets of a selected few. This City needs jobs. It needs to get people off social services and back to work. The Metroplex was supposed to help the City with that, but they have failed - failed to a tune of $10 millions taxpayer dollars.
